Check rear wall of freezer to see if you can feel frost about halfway down. If so you likely have a defrost system problem. Three components involved in defrost system, Heater, defrost thermostat and defrost timer or Defrost control (circuit board).

Hello Patrickbono,

I understand that your are having a problem with your fridge it is not getting cold. However, the freezer is cooling just fine this is a common occurrence when the evaporator fan goes out in the unit. Here is a tip you can follow to help you diagnosis the problem

Fridge not getting cold?

I would suggest you call the service tech as the unit is still under warranty and have them to replace the fan and check the rest of the unit.

Fridgedaire freezer not staying cold. I can

did anyone help you with this problem? i have a similar problem but my freezer works fine in the summer. it does not stay cold enough in the winter. i keep the frige in my garage as a spare but it's not very helpful when it doesn't work! a repair person told me it was too cold in my garage for the freezer to work...not sure why, the frige part works fine. i'm looking into a blanket insulator from appliance zone to see if that will help.

Side by side whirlpool frige, freezer works fine refrigerator section not cold enough?

Hi,

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.

Thanks

Frige not getting cold on side by side unit but freezer works fine

Check the lever somewhere around the inside top of the refrigerator. This lever slides back and forth to control the temperature in the non-frozen compartment.

Side by side Sub Zero not cold enough.

How old is "OLDER" ? If there is no frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer you could have one of two problems. On older units the compressor wears out with years of service and no longer pumps efficiently. Or it could possibly be low on refrigerant charge. ether one of these two problems is a sign that is time to update to new unit.

If you have frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer section you then would have a problem in the defrost circuit attributed to the timer, defrost heaters or defrost thermostat.

Bottom Freezer working but not side!

Typically the freezer air is circulated into the frige area to provide cooling. If the circ. fan is not working or the air ducts/channels/dampers are blocked with ice, food, etc. then no cool air will get from the freezer to the frige area. Check all the air channels and to see if the dampers are open along with the circulation fan running. The diagrams at the following link should help you see inside better. If your lower circulation fan is running then you likely have an air return/supply channel blocked with ice and will require an old style defrost (unplug unit and leave doors open for 24 hours to melt ice, etc.). If the fan isn't running then that needs to be replaced. Air channels can freeze up if a door is left open slightly overnight or other moisture enters the freezer/frige. http://www.partselect.com/MultiModels.aspx?ModelNum=ER6AHKXPQ&searchTerm=&RefineSearch=0
