I have a Brother MFC-440CN Multifunction Center. I am unable to print to it and I have gotten various display messages stating errors.It began with "Unable to Print 50," then after a trying to restart the printer (had to manually unplug it, ON/OFF would not function) and trying to print again a "Unable to Clean 50" appeared.
I tried following the instructions on http://www.fixya.com/support/t211210-brother_mfc845cw as other people with my problem were directed there, but I was unable to follow the steps and succesfully open the machine.
Now I am getting a "Unable to Clean 51" error. I followed another guide on this site and found that my machine says there is a "Machine Error 51."
More than likely you have a bad printhead, if its under warranty brother will pay to have it fixed, otherwise just play baseball with it and buy another one

in my printer brother mfc-7340 when i coping with machine after some time display will show print unable with error code 72 what i will do? plse tell me;

my brother mfc-440cn printer says, "unable to print 51" on the screeen after if off (which it woudn't let me do. I had to unplug it. It just won't work.
error 51: problem with purge station or travel path way of printhead. You cant fix it by yourself.
If it is still in guarantee give it to a service dealer after calling brother hotline.
