HP OfficeJect 7310 Uses 2 Pieces of Paper when Printing Fax

Every time I receive a fax, the machine feeds two pieces of paper printing most of the info on sheet one, and only the last line of info on a second piece. If I use it just for copying from the glass, no problem. Fax only. Fax is set to letter size paper.

I have cleaned them but haven't gotten a fax yet to test whether it worked or not! But hopefully! Thank you.

When I called HP for the same problem, they said to unplug my printer from the wall, let it sit for 2 min, and no more issues.  Sure enough, it worked.

Sounds like the feed rollers need to be cleaned or replaced.

No print on copies or faxes

This is a clogged print head. This happens if the printer has been off for a long time or if the cartridge was removed and the unit left empty for any time.
Take out the cartridge and press the print part on a piece of paper. Any black lines? If not, you will need a new cartridge. Wiping the print head gently with a Q-tip moistened with PURE alcohol (99%) may restore printing.

My HP 6100 series all in one wants to align cartridge

This document explains the different results obtained when using or not using the Automatic Reduction (or Auto Reduction) Feature. The following issues usually result when the Automatic Reduction feature is not set correctly:
  • Faxes printing too small
  • Faxes printing on more than one page
  • A blank page ejecting between each printed fax page
This feature can be turned ON (the default) or OFF from the Advanced Fax Features menu. The two main purposes of the Auto Reduction feature
  • Fits a received fax page onto the paper size loaded in the paper tray and selected in the paper size setting of the Basic Fax Setup. For example; if letter size paper is loaded in the paper tray and selected in the fax settings and a legal size document is received, each page will be reduced and printed on one letter sized paper.
  • Allows the addition of the fax header margin at the top of every printed fax without extending the fax onto another page. The fax header is printed at the top of every fax received with identifying information about the fax sender. Since this increases the overall page length, the page must be reduced to fit onto one page. Auto reduction slightly shrinks the fax as it is received so the entire page will print on one piece of paper even though a top margin is allowed for the fax header.

Hp officeject 6210 all in one printer

Sorry these printers has capability to send faxes from the computer only but not receive.

But your idea is right on wasting paper on printing incoming faxes, These days HP has launched a new model which can receive fax to your computer without wasting paper See the link bellow:

Clearing an error

well, one of two things have happened, 1. you haven't removed all of the jammed paper, maybe you left a small piece of a piece of paper or you may bent or broken your paper jam sensor. go through the paper path very carefully and check both things.
