Computer can't see HTC HD Touch Camera not working either
Hi all,
I am soooo frustrated, I can't get my HTC to sync or even get reconised by my computer that it is even there. I can connect through blue tooth but I want to upgrade by ROM to the new HTC one, But I need to get it to use the USB cable. The camera doesn't work any more either, I have a similar problem the screen is also blank. I love this phone , but get this makes me want to throw it. If anyone can help I would very much appreciated it. Thanks Sharyn

hey mate you need active sync on your pc- it should have installed in the first connection (maybe you got a cd with the HD with it on it or try searching for it) from here you connect up using the usb cable that also goes in your power pack and connect it up and choose active sync on the mobile (if touch is still working) or if not it usually is preset to choose active sync from here it should start syncing all your phone info to microsoft excahnge automatically (i had to set up an excahnge connected it to my hotmail account/uni account) from here next time u say reset your phone (hard reset) or flash it or get a new windows mobile phone (all same software ie samsung omnia and htc touch hd both windows 6.1) it will automatically resync all your contacts onto the phone (as long as its connected on active sync)- hope this helps a bit
i had a hard time understanding your question- but iim guessing its a software glitch.... what i did to reset mine was redownload the telstra rom from the htc site (htc.com/au/- then go support- then in dfrop down choose htc touch hd- then click download on htc toucch hd rom upgrade asia- then choose telstra settings and download- should be like 100 odd mb.... once installed connect hd to com via active sync (make sure more then 50% battery) and open up this rom update... follow installation instructions and let it run (all automatic- only for htc touch hd tesltra bought in aus) - be aware that this will wipe all stuff on the phone (not memory card) ie calendar contacts (so backup using active sync b4 update your rom) after all this turn on your phone again and it should start up like the first time u ever turned it on ie touch calibration and time/date etc (this should fix any software glitches)
have u installed the software from the given CD with ur phone?try it, may work.if it doesnt then try downloading the software from the net.i havnt heard of this problem before.i myself hav an htc touch n syncing it with vista is even easier.
pls tell me what do u want to do with active sync bcoz this small piece of software gives lot of trouble in winxp , vista WMDC works ok , i know u are frustrated with microsoft support infact support one some issues does not even exist at all , this problem is not from ur PDA it is from this malfunc software that is called active sync , pls let me know if u use active sync to backup ur contacts then u can do it with SPB backup better than active sync without errors u can losd it it to ur pda and can make backups from ur pda not pc dependent at all
by what i have seen when i have that problem i have deleted the partnership from active sync and then recreated the partnership, be sure that you have all your info backed up though because it will wipe it all off. That should help if not let me know
