SOURCE: janome 5700 handwheel stuck/inside pulley stuck

The error message relates to the motor sensing that it is working unusually hard.........the extra strain will have a physical cause, generally in the hook and bobbin region.......something blocking or slowing things down, so.......
Remove needleplate and bobbin case.
You will probably find an accumulation of lint in and around this area, also possibly in the feeddog channels.
Use a small brush and vacuum with crevice tool to remove the lint and wipe the hookrace with a tissue moistened with methylated (denatured) spirit to remove any dirt deposits.
Also check that the bobbin case is not damaged on the top surface by needle strikes or on the underside rim by the hook gouging as it spins.
If damage is present but mild, you can use very fine emery paper to smooth surface, if more severe, replace the bobbin case. Don't forget to change needles regularly too.

SOURCE: Handwheel Stuck

How about the belt? you have to take off the outer case, usually a few screws and check it. Also, when you have the case off, look for thread inside.

Tacsew 950 suddenly siezed up. Handwheel doesn't turn, main shaft doesn't turn, needle stuck in one position, bobbin mechanism doesn't rotate. Nothing moves. I have examined machine very...

This happened to me. I took apart the bobbin and there were no threads stuck. It moved freely, but the hand wheel was still stuck. So I checked the belt between the handwheel and the motor. I tugged on it (while the machine is off) and tugged on the belt to turn the handwheel. It took a couple tuggs to make the handwheel move, but once it started moving, it seemed to unfreeze. And I was back to normal. I can’t tell you what happened, but it’s fine now.

Janome MyLock 634D serger won't serge and the handwheel is stuck after I removed a piece of fabric that was stuck by the knife.

if the handwheel won't turn, i'd double check nothing is still stuck. also, make sure you didn't half disengage the blade as they have several positions ( so you can disengage it for rolled hem etc) If you can't find anything I'm sorry to say something may have been damaged when the fabric got caught.

Not making stitch

a.gif Dear Joan,

On the top of the machine there is a button. Push the button while turning the handwheel toward you. When the button drops into the machine, you are ready to adjust the length. Keep holding the button in the machine and turn the handwheel forwards or backwards, noting the numbers on the inside of the handwheel. Turning the handwheel to the back decreases the size of the stitch, and turning the handwheel forward decreases the size of the stitch. Release the button and then begin to s
