Unfortunately, I never see or have experiment wiht this problem.
I want ask to you.
Have you try to recharge the battery?
What error message do you find?
If you have still with the same problem, try to change CF or not use CF?
If You use other CF than the camera have still same problem, i think you have trouble with your CF slot. And if this the problem, you can clean or brush your card slot. But if it's still not solve you problem, I don't know exactly what cause your problem.

Minolta Dimage S414 does not turn on, displays err message then shuts off? No error code, just err. Been in storage four years, probably stuck lens or something?

Go to this website and try the fixes listed....one of them may "kickstart" your camera.

Minolta dimage s414 camera, error no card try to use a 4 gb flashcard and then it read unable to use card.

The S414 was designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it will fit into the slot, it will not work. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Card problems with Minolta S414

You can try formatting the card on a computer and then trying another format on the camera. If that doesn't help, try another card.

If multiple cards don't work in the camera, I'd start suspecting the camera.

I am using the Minolta Diamge S414 and when I put the memory card in it says unable to read card. The card is a Sandisk 4GB Extreme. Is this card not compatiable with the camera. Thanks

Try to format the card first. Sometimes, if there is data on the card, the camera will not be able to read it. You should always format memory cards on the camera that they will be used on.

Minolta Dimage S414 camera doesn't like a new 4GB CF card

Check your manual to see if your camera accepts a card that large.

Rebel XS ERR99

This is something I found when googling your problem.

Thank you for contacting Canon product support. I'm sorry to hear that
your EOS 10D is displaying an "ERR 99" message.

To isolate the cause of the issue, we suggest that you do the
following:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.

Does the "ERR 99" message appear? If it does, then the camera should
be serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of
steps:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.

Does the "ERR 99" message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most
likely source of the issue. Try using a different card.

If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the
camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.

If the "ERR 99" message only appears when one particular lens is
attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.

If you see the "ERR 99" with a different Canon lens attached, then the
camera should be serviced.

Camera dying?

CCD problem is the likely cause here and once you have another one put in camera should work fine.

While the message is displayed, press the center of the controller. The monitor display and data panel will turn off. Turn the Main Switch dial to OFF position and remove the CompactFlash from the camera. - When "No Card" message appears next time when the camera is activated in the recording mode, the camera and CompactFlash are OK. - When "Card Error. OK" appears again, the CompactFlash may be faulty. Use other card.

Konica Minolta Dimage S414

I have exactly the same problem, I'm guessing that the flash capacitor has died. I'm using the camera for outdoor work only at the moment, when I get desperate I might try taking the top off to see if I can find the capacitor.
