My hl 85086w Samsung DLP Rear Projection TV blinking lights

My hl 85086w Samsung DLP Rear Projection TV started blinking lights and basically the TV and audio are gone. Tv basically shuts down, minus the blinking lights. It can be turned on later, but only stays on for less than 5 minutes. Obvious solution was to change the bulb. We recently purchased the bulb (with housing) and installed as per directions (a kid could do this) , but the tv's status is the same. Any ideas?
