Yeah - the sensor is the problem... It is magnetic... You can find it next to the wheel on the belt - It is fairly small.... There is a metal disc in the wheell on the belt that is a magnet.. As it passes by the sensor - the sensor registers the magnet and can simply calculate speed based on the frequency of the passes... Sometimes the sensor slides too far back and ergo can`t register the magnet passing by - Then you get the L5 error... Yea- its really simple with the Maximus Formula's (well.. I have a Maximus II Formula....)
Under the BIOS, you should have a tab called "extreme tweaker" or something similar. Go under that and there should be a nice CPU level up option. For example, mine has 3 options: (i have an E8400) 1.) Auto 2.) E8500 3.) Crazy
Another solution is to get the ASUS utility called CPU Level Up. It installs under windows, and lets you switch your CPU settings easily. Although this may be a Republic of Gamers specific utility.. not sure.
yea mine 2 but i cant load anything ive had mine for a yr and 12 days and it worked fine untill i played cod4 now only thing that works is the internet
