    hello,

this treadmill has less than a mile of use on it. we originally purchased it about a year ago and just made sure it worked after assembly. 6 months later my wife said it only would beep. i adjusted the reed switch as the manual suggested and it worked once more. 6 months later she wants to use it and it does it again. this time adjustment of the reed switch doesn't work....

anything else you can think of??

    thx, raul

    hello,

unit is on surge protector. motor reset has been turned on and off several times. i took it off display mode after assembly. i also too the right arm off to verify the connector was connected correctyly. the light on the motherboard remains red which indicates the unit is receiving power...

    thx, raul

All, just figured something out. I had the evil beeping problem as well. I decided to play around and see if I could fix it. I unplugged the iFit adapter from the main control board and when I plugged it back in and tested it, IT WORKS AGAIN! NO MORE BEEPING!

I had the same problem with my Nordic track. I pressed every button until I found the one that did not beep. The one that does not beep is stuck. My problem was with the Ifit button. I disconnected the Ifit unit and now the thing work fine except for Ifit which I never used. Nordic track wanted to sell me a new console which cost more than the machine.

I had the same problem. I have a C 2155 NordicTrack it would give me for beeps with every control I hit. NordicTrack told me it was the console, or the control wire. The console cost almost as much as the machine. After reading this, I disconnected the iFit, and the machine works perfectly. Thank you for all of your help. Gratefully yours, JG. [email protected]

Thanks! This helped me too. Have a 2nd hand A2250. My iFit connection was glued to the board, so I just cut it, taped off the cut ends with electrical tape and that did it. Never once used iFit anyway.

I have Nordic Track A2550 the ribbon cable is soldered onto the board on both sides. I tested the ifit down switch (one that is not responding with beep when pushed) and the switch is good. I cut off the ribbon cable and my A2550 is back and running

Is it one beep or multiple beeps?
Im afraid your motor may be shot.

Thanks

ok - then the controller is shot.

  • Anonymous Aug 24, 2009

CLICK HERE for your manual in PDF format.

    You have the KeyClip installed?

Is the machine plugged into a surge protector?

Simply plugging and unplugging it can cause a surge to the main circuit board and cause damage.

Have you reset the motor's circuit breaker (next to the power plug)?

Push and HOLD the stop button for 5 seconds. It may be in DEMO mode if the display remains lit after removing the key.

then its going back to a faulty controller pad.

depending on the environemt it was stored in for so long - it may be simply corrosion from humidity.

Remove the controller and look for any signs of rust, or blackening, or green patina.

Unplugging and re-plugging in the connectors is also suggested.

My Nordic track exp2000 treadmill, console turns on but the treadmill is completely unresponsive except, the play button. What do I do

Possible problems include, defective console, defective wire harness or defective Main board(Circuit Board)

If you have an available console to switch your current one out with, please do so to see if it starts working. This way its a sure shot test, if it works then you just need a new console.

If it does not work then you will have to perform a few other tests to fully figure out the problem.

One basic check for the displays of the console not working is as follows:

  • Remove the key from the console and unplug the power cord.
  • Remove the main shroud and locate the reed switch and the magnet on the left side of the pulley.
  • Turn the pulley until the magnet is aligned with the reed switch. Make sure that the gap between the magnet and the reed switch is about 1/8".
  • If necessary, loosen the screw and move the reed switch slightly. Re-tighten the screw.
  • Re-attach the hood and run the treadmill for a couple of minutes.

Hope this helps but if this does not work we would be more than happy to help you out :) by phone 888-713-2880 or by chat at www.sportsmith.net

We look forward to hearing from you! Otherwise, good luck on the repair :)

Here is also the link to your manual :) http://www.sportsmith.net/images/product_support/NordicTrack/NTTL10610%20-%20NORDIC%20TRACK%20EXP2000XI/NTTL1061.0-181438.pdf

Treadmill won't start. Console works but when push start or any of the buttons it beeps and nothing happens. It incline, change speed. I unplugged and restarted but nothing.

If the console takes batteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not require batteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mounted on the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into the front roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointing directly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of the magnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected to the console
.
Optic Sensor: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The optic disk and sensor are located either at the end of the motor or the right hand side of the front roller. The optic disk spins between two sensors on the optic switch. The disk must spin freely without touching either sensor. The sensors can be moved by loosening the adjustment bolt holding the switch to its bracket. The switch can then be slid. Center the disk.

BUYER BEWARE!! I purchased the Nordic Track C2500 in 2009 and after 2 years of moderate usage (105 lb women walking 3-4 times a week) the console stopped working. None of the buttons respond and it beeps...

1. Power

o 1

Ensure that the treadmill is plugged into a grounded outlet using the correct surge suppressor. Use a UL 1449 suppressor listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS). It must be rated for 15 amps and 120 volts AC. Secure the services of an electrician if the outlet is not grounded, or move the Proform treadmill near a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord.

o 2

Insert the safety key fully into the display. Treadmills with keys are designed not to turn on without the safety key in place.

o 3

Find the circuit breaker on the front of the frame and make sure it is not tripped. The circuit breaker is a vertical switch on the 540S and a horizontal switch on the 540 Interactive Trainer. Press it to the "Reset" position, which will be labeled.
2. Reed Switch

o 1

Unplug the treadmill and remove the safety key.

o 2

Move the upright base of the treadmill down with the help of another person and lift the uprights so that you can get to the underside of the console. Use a Phillips screwdriver with at least a 5-inch shaft to remove the screws. There are five hood screws on the 540 Interactive trainer and four screws on the 540S.

o 3

Remove the motor hood to get to the small reed switch by pivoting the hood off the frame. Find the reed switch and magnet, which are on the left side of the pulley for both models.

o 4

Turn the pulley with your hand until the reed switch aligns with the magnet. There should be 1/8-inch gap between the two. Fix the distance so that it is 1/8 inch by loosening the reed switch screw and sliding it to the correct distance. Tighten the screw.

o 5

Reverse the directions to put the hood back on and the treadmill upright in the original position.
Check too:Optical Sensor. If have it

Check if some pre-settign isnt work there. To re-adjust device, check this procedure...

Remove the key from the console and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Next, carefully lower the Uprights (111, 112). Remove the two indicated #8 x 3/4" Screws (1). Note: A Phillips screwdriver with a shaft at least 8 in. (20 cm) long is needed.

zjlimited_1524.jpg

Raise the Uprights (111, 112) to the vertical position.
Remove the three # 8 x 3/4" Screws (1) from the Motor Hood (63), and carefully pivot the Motor Hood off.

Nordic track commercial 1300 manual

It sounds like reed switch inside the side panel located on the frame by the large pulley either needs to be adjusted or replaced. Try adjusting the switch first the clearance between the switch and large pulley magnet will be 1/8" if you have the same result then replace the switch.
