I know this is a very old post, but figured I'd answer it so any others with this issue can have the fix.

With Echo trimmers not revving to speed although they start with no problem, the issue is usually the muffler screen. It becomes plugged with carbon because of improperly mixed 2 stroke fuel.

Remove the screen from the muffler and burn off the carbon with a propane torch, or wire brush it off. Once cleaned engine should rev to speed.

SOURCE: echo weedeater srm 230 oi l for houseing what

See section 24 of your manual here. It has the information you want for lubing the flexible drive shaft and the gear-drive housing (if your unit is so equipped). This is a manual for the SRM230S model.

I have a Echo 500T leaf blower I can take off the carb spray a little gas in the car chamber it fires put a new carburator on and can hardly pull the starter rope haelp me give some feedback

I do not know of why putting on a carb would make it hard to pull the rope unless something got bound up putting it back together. Pull out the spark plug and try it. That will eliminate too much fuel in the cylinder. Take off the pull rope to make sure it is ok. Try to turn the motor by hand.

Why does my echo 230 weedeater not throttle up

This is usually a result of the diaphram in the card being too dry to open and close properly fromt the vacum of the engine. I have replaced just the diaphram for around 12 bucks or replaced the whole carb from Ebay etc around 30 to 50 bucks.

MY 2003 Toyota Echo ran out of gas and I put one gallon in and it won't start.

If it has a carburator. Take the air cleaner off and pour a very small amount of gas into the top of the carburator. Like about a teaspoon's worth. If its fuel injected I have no answer for you.

I bought a new echp pb-251 blower last year. towards the end of last season the blower seemed to run sluggish. I attributed it to the cold weather and stored it properly with fuel stabilizer. Now here in...

Hi, there is a wire screen in the exhaust outlet that blocks up with carbon deposits. It can be removed and cleaned with a wire brush. If blocked it will give you the problem you have and also make the blower quieter than it should be. Regards Phil.

I have a Troybilt weedeater that works great until I put the tiller attachment on. With the tiller on, it dies after a few minutes of use. Any ideas?

Hello dane. Change the fuel filter, install a new spark plug and a new air filter. Then get a can of carburator cleaner to add to your fuel. let that treated fuel run for 5 minutes and you should have your problem solved. If not, you will have to replace the carburator or rebuild it.

My srm 230 starts but bogs down when you pull trigger. I put a new carb on and it ran for a few days then it started bogging. Any tips?

Same issue with mine... I've put in new plug, fuel filter, made sure exhaust was clear. Changed gas.

New carburator doesn't passed fuel

Are you sure that that the replacement is the correct one. Also, why did you have to replace the carburetor . Did you verify that the carburetor was the problem? Did the weedeater run by priming? Did you check the pump and lines? If these methods were tried and did not reveal the problem, then I suggest that you get professional help.
