Have a RedLion 1.5 HP Sprinkler Pump FL-SPRK Series. Have it hooked up. We are using a 1-1/2 line for suction and 1-1/2 for discharge. Pump comes on but water is just trickling through line.

It does not seem to have enough suction. What do I need to check or do next?

SOURCE: Bissell Pro Tech Pro Steam Cleaner - no suction @ pump

Take a look at the Service Center Repair Manual (courtesy of Bissell New Zealand):
http://newzealand.bissell.com/images/IncludeContent/Service_Center_Help/Upright_Deep_Cleaner_Repair_Guide.pdf

There's a (basic) diagnostic routine for cleaning solution flow (page 7). However, there's a step that's (somewhat) left out. If you follow the diagnostic and get no spray, then try to spray with the hand-held upholstery thing. If:

1) you can spray cleaning solution with the hand-held upholstery thingie, and

2) there's no pinching of the lines at the base of the unit,

...then your heater block is probably blocked. There's a Lower Handle Disassembly guide (page 20) which you can follow to get at the heater block. The input port on mine was blocked with lime, and quite clearly so (I live in an area with pretty heavy water). You can also take the heating block apart (page 8) to better clean out the flow channels, and apply some descaler. I suppose you could also just recirculate descaler through the input and output ports of the heater block, but I wasn't exactly equipped to do so.

If you can't spray cleaning solution from either the upholstery thingie or the main unit, you probably need a new pump. Word of advice: get the one with the METAL PULLEY on the end. The old ones had plastic pulleys which often failed or deformed to uselessness after a while. Since the pulley wasn't replaceable, you had to order the whole pump assembly. Bissell maintains a list of service centers in various countries / cities which can either repair your unit for you, or, considering the name of this website, sell you the parts.

Good luck!

SOURCE: pump fills with air and suction is lost. seems

There is a gasket on the air duct that can move and allow ari to be sucked in. Go to the following site and click "view larger":

This will open a seperate window showing some pictures, one of which shows the gasket on the air duct. Make sure its seated properly.

SOURCE: water is not being discharged.

That means that the pump belt is worn and it needs to be replaced. You can get a replacement belt and view the manual here:

SOURCE: Need Kirby Generation 3 Vacuum cleaner manual.

If your brush roll is turning and your bag is not overly full, then the only other thing it can be is a clog where the bag connects to the vacuum. Turn the plastic part out away from vacuum and lift off to see if you have something clogging it. It would have to be something big, but not so big that it could not get past the fan. As a rule of thumb, KIRBY never clogs. I suspect that your belt is stretched out and your brush roll is not turning while on the carpet so the brush roll is just in the way rather than brushing your carpet to pick up dirt.

Hose setting, no suction through hose but not clogged. floor setting still works

Your filter may be stopped up and not allowing vacuum.
Your discharge may be blocked. In order to have vacuum you have to have a way to discharge the air.
Possibly your motor is weak

I found this info
Why is my vacuum losing suction?
A motor generates power which powers a vacuum which, in turn, creates suction to lift debris. The most common areas of suction loss are within the hose itself, the vacuum bag, clogged rollers, broken vacuum belt or a faulty gasket. All of these problems will lead directly to the vacuum cleaner losing suction.

Royal pro series carpet cleaner, new only used once. Tried today and sprays water but won't extract. Nothing in dirty water tank.

Inspect where the suction comes the machine into the water tank and through the tank to the nozzle assembly. If something isn't seated correctly or isn't working properly it could cause a suction loss.

I replace the pump. How do i prime the pump?

Use a hose or bucket. Fill the pump body and the entire suction line (if possible) with water. Close all covers and keep the discharge of the pump open so it can vent any air. Once you are sure that the pump body is full, turn on the pump keeping the suction line under water.

No suction - air blowing OUT from tube

Is the air blowing out of the pick-up tube or out of the exhaust tube on the unit? I am assuming the pick-up tube. The installer has hooked your system up to the exhaust tube on the unit. Hook up to the intake on the unit instead.

No suction

1, Does the blower (discharge) side blow bunches of air??
Yes: Something is clogged from the bag to the hose end. Try blowing out the hose from the discharge side.
Or: The bag is not properly seated. Make sure that the plastic piece is properly inserted into the bag, and properly aligned and locked in place with the suction intake.
No: Something is wrong in the motor/fan assembly.
2: The hose has a plastic cover on the end farthest from the unit. Make sure that this cover is closed. If it is open, your suction will go way down.
