Brown horizontal lines sporadically appearing on monitor

I have brown horizontal lines which appear on my monitor sporadically. This problem is getting progressively worse. I have tried moving the phone and all other electrical appliances which are near the monitor, but nothing seems to reduce the problem. I have brown horizontal lines on my monitor all the time and sometimes it takes over my whole screen and I can't see anything.

I had the same problem. I fixed it completely today. The horizontal lines disappeared. IT IS DEFINETLY THE DEVICE DRIVER. I confirmed my monitor model tyope (dell M783s) and downloaded the specific driver for this monitor.

I had to do these exact steps or did not work.
1) with the problem screen, disabled the display adapter under the Hardware/Device Manager settings.
2) Restart the PC
3) Boot will come up with brown lines still but the screen will low resolution of 600x800.
4) Then I installed the correct device display monitor driver onto the pc. ( you may need to scan for new hardware, then choose the directory with the new hard drive.)

Blue Pictures mean that you are on the Manual Setting and you have White Balance set to Warm Florescent.

Number 1 tip, read the manual twice with the camera in your lap.

For the lines, it needs to go back to the eBay seller, because it is broken, or you send it to a Canon Service Centre.

When ever I switch on my Acer Desctop, Monitor will be on for little while then horizantal lines with brown screen will be there if I Hit monitor lightly again the display will come back for few minutes...

The fix for horizontal lines is very similar to fixing vertical lines.

Hi there and welcome to Fixya.

This type of issue is geared towards hardware problem you only need to verify it by doing the following:

Make sure the computer is turned off
Turn on the PC and immediately tap on "DEL" key repeatedly (on some systems, it's "F2")
The BIOS screen will appear (not the windows logo), here, you can stop tapping on the kybd.
Spend 30min or an hour with the BIOS screen and check if the lines are still present

If the problem persist, then it's definitely a hardware concern and the monitor needs to be serviced. Please understand that there's no DIY solution for this unless you are a certified/trained monitor techninician.

My nokia 6500 slide, has some problem with its screen. first it was a light brown symbol on the screen and later, two lines appeared to the left side of the symbol horizontally. and now, one more line...

Hi, You will need to unscrew the phone and see if the phone screen is not broken, if the screen is not broken, that means the fllex of the phone is damaged and will need to be replaced.

The flex controls the displaying of the screen.

Horizontal line appears even computer is off.

Unfortunately that means your monitor is in need of repair.Most likely you will have to consider replacin the monitor as a 17$ most likely isn't worth the price of repair.

Horizontal lines are appearing and moving acrosss the screen of my View Sonic E50C Monitor...

What is wrong with your monitor is that the Horizontal section is going faulty, the lines you are seeing are the Horizontal Retrace lines, usually invisable in a working unit. It is often a faulty capacitor(s) OR a Diode breaking down.. in the area of the Flyback Transformer. Probably time for a new one unless ya can fix it yaself.
