if you look inside washer there is a rubber rim on the inside around the openning. Look inside and you will find where the stink is coming from. Keep door open when not in use and wipe inside of rubber trim to keep the mildew out.
I can't solve the problem, but my HE3 42824 has done the exact same thing...the kenmore subcontractor repair people have been less than helpful and want to charge 180 just to come out and service it. We were told on the phone that it MAY be the plastic tub, and it MAY be covered under warranty. After waiting 5 days for a maintenance appointment, only to have them cancel it for 5 days, we had enough...I we bought a Samsung last night! I don't think the Kenmore cleans well, anyhow, and it adds a bit of a musty smell to my clothes, so I am glad to be rid of it!
The smell comes from your front rubber boot you must replace it toget rid of the smell. The water collects in the inner part of the boot and and sits there till it smells hope i helped
I have the same problem. Nothing works fcfor the mildew. i have bleached it, used simple green and used baking soda. That washer is the biggest piece ever!! Good Luck!
You are probably using too much soap and softner. You only need about 1 Tablespoon of each for a full load with a front load machine. Run it with nothing it in except bleach. If you see bubbles inside that means there's left over soap in the tub. Keep running it empty (with bleach) until you don't see bubbles anymore then start using less soap.
Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller & Shah, LLC, is currently investigating defects and other problems in certain front-loading washing machines manufactured and/or sold by Whirlpool, Kenmore, and LG Electronics, including Kenmore Elite HE3 front load washers, Whirlpool Duet front load washers and LG Tromm, LG XL and other LG model front load washers, which result in the growth of mold/mildew in the machines and which can cause the staining of clothes and other problems.
On August 29, 2007, SFMS filed a Complaint against Sears Holding Corp. involving its Kenmore HE, HE2, HE3, HE4, HE5 and other front-loading automatic washers. If you own a front-loading washing machine that is manufactured by any of the above-mentioned companies and are experiencing the growth of mold/mildew in the machine, visit the following website: www.frontloadwasherclassaction.com
the problem is your door seal if you close the door after a wash then what happens is the water goes mouldy on the inside of the door seal what you need to do is replace the door seal you will never get rid of the smell without replacing it never close the door after a wash always leave it open to make sure its your seal the easy way is to look at the inner part of the seal and it will be mouldy only thing you can do
set the washer to fill. open the lid and depress the lid switch. might be in the rear of the cover or on the side. watch to see where the water level comes to. once the tub is filled, the water height switch operates the timer motor for the different cycles.
there is always some water left inside the machine and that is probably what you are hearing
are you using liquid detergent?
if so this is almost certainly the cause of the smell. liquid detergent leaves a nasty slime inside thge machine and smells like drains.
put on a boil wash with no clothes and revert to using powder detergent
