After loading every disc displayes "wrong disc'

Check the display driver for your computer.

Take it back to the store if its new or if you bought a warranty and trade it for a new one. If not try calling an electronic store and ask them if they know whats wrongs with it. Be sure to read the instruction manuel for a support phone number and call there too.

If your unit displays no TOC(Table of Contents) and rejects the disc, there is a great possibility the the laser(Optical Pickup is worn out of spec, or maybe dusty. The pickup is divided internally, using one wavelength laser for the DVD discs and another laser for the CD discs. They both use the same optical lens which is where the laser light is emitted from the pickup. It would be unusual to loose both the audio and dvd lasers at the same time, so there is a distinct possibility that the lens is dirty, You can try a CD Cleaner disc, available at most retailers. This could be because of a damaged lens , where the dvd player tries to recognize the disc but is unable to do so and then either sends the disc back i.e. the tray opens up or the message no disc loaded is displayed.

I suggest you to :-

1. Clean the lens with a lens cleaner available in the market and load any disc in the player to check if it's working fine.
2. Get the lens replaced from the market and the problem should be solved.

try going into your hardware menue and see if its set on manual for videos

first i downloaded the manual and read it through... it mentioned wrong disc but did not give any solution so i rang Teac and they told me it was a malfunction and by the time i paid for them to look at it i could buy a new dvd..... so i am going to buy a new dvd..... not really a solution but the only one available

no your son broke the loadi tray and now it will not aline properlycheaper to buy a new the fix!

I guess the problem was in internal., you try to open case and while operated with disc watch if the optical lens working, may also try to open region code to "0" or multi region

posible problem "NO DISC"

a. Optical Lens
b. FCC wire
c. Mpeg Board
d. Wrong Region

You now have a optical block problem. An alignment may do the trick, but you'll be out the estimate if it's a major repair and you refuse to dump more cash into it...accordianman
