Next check the drain lines, then the solenoid valve voltage output.

If the power going to the pump is in spec, then you are left with the pump.

Please be careful:
1) Before working on your dishwasher shut off the circuit that powers it. Once you see how to meter the solenoid output, you can apply power and cycle the dishwasher manually. Take care not to short any components. If in doubt, it is best to call in help.

2) Do not work inside the dishwasher immediately following a wash cycle: The electric dryer element may be hot.

The bottom of the tub is full of water won't drain, any idea

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If it's still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps...

Our fisher and paykel dishdrawer won't wash. It comes up with F1 and flashing light on control panel.

the dynamo dishwashing stuff has caused foaming which reached the base of the dishdrawer unit causing the flood switch to trip. This gives F1 error.
Not sure how much foaming has occured.

Best to turn off power and take power cable out from socket. then empty the drawer using towels. pull out the bottom drawer and wait a day or so to let the foam disappear from the bottom of dishwasher (under the bottom drawer). Connect the power and see if F1 had gone. If not, you need more work. Post a comment based on the above suggestion and I will guide you further if required. Always use Finish dishwasher power only (recommended quantity) as the drawers are small and don't need much detergent.

Kenmore 17379 dishes are not clean after running a cycle

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound. If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve.

Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete.

Water is staying in the bottom

Water staying in bottom is not a problem unless the dishwasher base is full of it and covers the wash arm.

This means the drain cycle is not working or dishwasher is shutting off before drain cycle.

Try to clean the filters at the base and check drain in kitchen sink side is clear.

Need the model number in case you want more specific instructions.

The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes.

Hope this helps...

Ge dishwasher

If your GE dishwasher is between 5-10 years old, you may try replacing the check valve piston & nut assy (about $14). It's located on the inside in the rear of the dishwasher behind a screen which is fastened by about 4 screws. Once the screen is off, you can easily unscrew the check valve assy by hand ... install the new check valve assy ... reinstall the screen with the 4 screws ... and save yourself $400 for a new dishwasher.

Apparently, the rubber cone in the check valve assy deteriorates over time and prevents the pump from fully draining all the water from the bottom of the d/w at the end of a cycle.

GOOD LUCK!!
