I recently started having this same problem...I can only seem to get 1/3 to 2/3 of any document to print, then the L7680 starts printing page after page of one-line garbage. No error messages. What is the deal? It was working fine and nothing has changed except a patch that was supposed to FIX things from HP.

HI there make sure that the paper tray guides are fully against the paper also try sending the job through the manual feed to see if you get the same problem. If you do not then it maybe that the paper cassette separation pad is worn and will need replacing. If your model has no rubber pad at the front of the cassette then you will have a metal hold over one corner of the paper make sure that when the paper lifts that the paper sits under the silver (Dog Ear) as this acts as a separator.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: HP L7680 Print Head Problem
Sometimes the circuit strip that sits at the back of the printhead carriage is the problem due to moisture, ink soiling, etc...
To clean these you need some cotton buds (like you use to clean your ears) and gently clean the area at the back of the printhead carriage (where the printheads slot into).
This removes any ink, or moisture that could be causing a short circuit or similar.
SOURCE: Can I scan multiple pages by using the document
Hi,
Yes, you can do this by knocking together the sheets you want to scan into a small, lined-up stack and then put them face up, in the ADF loader.
Bear in mind it can only handle so many sheets at a time (think it's 15?) so don't stuff it with too much or it'll choke.
Remember also that it needs nice straight edges, not dog-eared bits of scrap paper otherwise it'll mis-feed or crumple your source documents.
Oh and you'll need to make sure the software you're using can actually make use of the ADF... The HP provided software can, but it may take a little bit of experimentation to figure out the best, most-appropriate settings.
Hope that helps..

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 1200 prints pdf documents slow
pdf documents are historically slow, they usually depend on how they are created and how many attachments or upgrades have been added to the document. this accounts for some of the variations of speed the documents are printed.
SOURCE: HP Officejet Pro L7680 prints half page only
to get to the root cause of the problem . you can try printing from the notepad and check it prints fine from the notepad . if it prints fyn then there can be some issues with the software compatibility.. which version you have for microsoft office.
