Unsolder the posistor first and shake it, if it rattles its fryed, if it doesn;t, it might just be adry joint.re solder if ok and turn on, if colours still mixed you might be looking at a faulty shadow mask and an expensive fix.

Testimonial: "Thanks. The positor was burnt out. However, I found one for just a few pounds and so the machine is fixed. Your advice was sound though!"

This is often called a PTC or thermistor . its actually a positive temp coefficient resistor .... most tvs use a similar type . they have either 2 leads or 3 leads .. once that requirement is met you can use one out of any junk tv ... or you can order a degauss PTC ... here is one part number that should work on most

APEX AT2702 Degauss Thermistor ...

i think thats a 3 legged device if thats what you need

do not jump across the PTC .. most sets will work without it if you dont move the tv and have a manual degaussing coil to use if you do move it .. (you only have to use the coil once untill the set is again moved) .. if you dont degauss the screen then you may have color blotches but the set will still work ..

Testimonial: "Many thanks for your speedy and precise response."

Schematic circuit

You mean the power supply circuit to this TV? If so, it is not possible to include by this window, as it is in PDF. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Power supply section circuits to many popular brand TVs are given. If you mean, the picture of the degaussing posistor:

THERE IS PATCH COLOUR IN MY TCL 21N26NF TV

Check the degaussing posistor. If any magnetic material, like speaker boxes of any cheap home theatre (Chineese made), do not have magnetic shield inside the speaker box have been placed by the side of the TV, can cause this problem too. Check it. It will be best to contact any service technician.

The component I showed here "degaussing posistor" will look somewhat like this, and can be located at the main power supply regulator section circuit of the TV. If you wish to get more details, check this link.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

There is a burned capacitor cx3210 and melted thermister thx3415 in Zenith B36A24Z Can dirt cause this problem from overheating or arcing?

When more dust accumulate, and absorbs moisture from the atmosphere, ther is a chance to get arcing. Clean the device by using a vaccum cleaner if possible. Burned degaussing coil cannot be repaired. It should be replaced along with degaussing posistor.

What caused my TV to suddenly have pink and green areas on the screen?

Hello
For every standard televisions, there will have a degaussing posistor, to demagnatise the picture tube, each time it is switched ON. If thie degaussing posistor has damaged, there will be no degaussing action and color patches on screen will be the relsult.
Moreover, check whether there is any external speaker boxes have placed near the Tv. The magnetic effect from the magent of the speaker can also cause this.
Posistors sre of severel types, and the pictures of some of them are given here.

I have a blue -green color at the bottom of my Magnavox 27 inch/ Model 27MS343S screen. What do I do?????

Hello
Ir is due to the magnatization of the picture tube. there are tw main possibilities for this fault. The first one is , if you place any high intensity magnetic materials, like stereo speaker boxes, which contain high power magnets inside on speakes or so on. The second one is failure of degaussing posistor inside the circuit board of your Tv.
Every colur TVs has this posistor, ususlly called degaussing posistor, which will work each time you switch on your TV by AC mains, for a very little , say to some microseconds or so, and it will heat up then and its resistance will go up to infinite, not allow any current to pass through. It is connected to a coil fitted around the picture tube inside, and will demagnatize the picture tube each time you switch on the Tv. If you switch off regularly with remote control, this posistor will not work, as there will not full power off occurs.
Do one thing first. Switch off your TV with it front panel power ON/OFF swtich, or unplug it from the mains wall socket for some time, say 30 minutes or so, and the switch it on. In rare occations this will retify the problem. If not, replace the degaussing posistor with an identical type. OK.

Green at bottom left corner I have a Zenith B27A74R 27 can i still get parrts to fix this tv I really love this tv

Hello
Green pach at the corner may have due to many reasons. The first one is due to the degaussing posistor resistor. If it have got open this fault may occur, the second one is open degaussing coil, fitted around to your TVs picture tube. The posistor faulure is usual. The other reasons are due to magnetc induction from nearby. To ensure that whether it is due to posistor failure or not, you just switch on the tv, switch if off. Turn its position to an other, say just 90 degree. Turn it on agin and see there is color patches comes on more parts of its screen, the posistor said above is working well, if not it is out. Replacing it is the only remedy.

The fault may be due to the magnetic induction from ouside. Be sure not to get any external speaker boxes or any materials that can cuse magnetic effects, nearby your TV. Turn the TVs loation to an other position and notice the effect.
This is due to some magnetic field there to deflect its electron beam to improper locations inside your picture tube.
To replace the posistor you have to open the back cover of your tv. The posistor is small resistor, cased in a black envelop, and look like a black small box, and can be located in the main power supply input section in your TVs power supply regulator sections. It usuall have 2 soldering connections, some may have three. Replacing it with similar type and number will solve your problem.
Before that be sure that there is no external magnetic field disturbs your TV. Ok.

No degausse function on remote

HELLO

The degauss operates only when you switch the TV on (not from standby). You might hear a noise when you switch it on like a "boing" sound and this indicates the degauss circuit is functioning.

If however you have green and purple on the screen then the degauss posistor has failed and will need replacing.

Hope this goes some way to helping you

Sansui picture is fluorescent ping purple green, etc. Worked fine yesterday.

HELLO

By the sound of this you have a degaussing problem! I think what has happened here is the degauss circuit has failed and the usual cause is the POSISTOR.

What you should try to do is switch the TV on, then OFF again and leave it for 30 mins before switching on again. When you have done this and the problem is no better, then contact a service centre who will cure the fault for you.

Alternatively, try to borrow a DEGAUSS COIL and with the set on, switch the coil on and by using a circular motion go around the screen of the TV moving backward slowly as you do it. When you are say 6 feet away from the screen switch the degauss coil off.

HOPE THIS HAS HELPED YOU (:-)
