SOURCE: Can a HDS 5 Lowrance

Hi, well I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but those two are NOT interchangeable sorry. The "Drive Current & Voltage" for the Transducer are not the same at all, in fact i don't even think that the "pin outs" are the same? but cannot remember off hand? Unless specifically indicated by the manufacturer, one cannot usually swap transducers among instruments, if one does/did do so, well indeed the transducer maybe damaged and or the output of the sounder maybe damaged as well?
These manufacturers actually make it so that none of their equipment is interchangeable, as they wish to maximize the profits you see, and if one could just swap things among models etc, then "They" would, in their mind anyway "loose out"
So you will simply have to cut a new hole and mount for you new transducer. make sure you mount it in the manufacturers recommended place, the Bow is fine, although I often recommend that it be central to the craft, but, sometimes this isn't possible for varying reasons.
Sometimes if one must retro-fit a new transducer to an existing but different size etc site, then, it is best to "Fill" the old mounting hole(s) with a suitable material, and then re-drill and re-mount it all again.

If y=f(x)=5x+3/4x-5 , show that x=f(y)

Write the equality in the form y=(5X+3)/(4X-5). Insert parentheses to ensure a correct result.
  1. Multiply both sides of the equality by (4X-5). This gives (4X-5)y=(5X+3).
  2. Open the parentheses as 4Xy-5y=5X+3
  3. Subtract 5X from both sides 4Xy-5y-5X=5X-5X+3
  4. Add 5y to both sides 4Xy-5X-5y+5y=5y+3 or 4Xy-5X=5y+3
  5. Factor the X on the left side X(4y-5)=5y+3
  6. If 4y-5 does not vanish, you can isolate X by dividing both members of the equality by (4y-5).
  7. You get X=(5y+3)/(4y-5)=f(y)
Compare the initial function f(x) and the function just found: They have the same form: X and y have switched places.

I own a lowrance hds 7 and it doesn't power on. Have any ideas what to do? Where to send for repair?

Test your Lowrance HDS 7 on different power sources e.g. on another motorboat to find out whether this is the problem of the boat's power supply or the HDS 7 itself - this advice will only help you to determine whether to call the boat-repairman or the lowrance hds 7 seller warranty service.
