The color ink cartridge '97' is being rejected by

Attempting to install the Tri-color (97) cartridge to the HP Photosmart 2575 printer it's giving me an error message "Tri-color (97) print cartridge inserted now is not intended for use in this printer".
I doubled checked the style number of the cartridge for this specific printer and it matches. I have a new black (98) cartridge in the printer and it was recognized by the printer just fine. 
I guess I need some insight on what might be the issue. I greatly appreciate any insight or suggestions on resolving this issue.

Hi,
this problem may be due to the senser in socket where you are insert the cartridge. so pls clean the socket with cotton using cleanin g liquid eg petrol , spirit or even nail polish remover

That is entirely up to your personal preferences. I sue black foa almost all except things like coupons and other documents that the color is needed to make it useable.

No. If you set it to tri color you WILL use the color ink cartridge to make black. Set the driver to print B&W

Remove the cartridges and do a full reset without them in by removing the wall socket and re-plugging.

What color and black and white cartridges should I use for a HP Photosmart 1115 printer?
It looks like your Photosmart 1115 printer uses an HP45 black ink cartridge and an HP78 tri-color cartridge. Some HP printers will accept re-manufactured ink carts, while other HP printers will not...just so you know. I've always bought genuine HP ink cartridges on eBay to save $$$.

The printer takes a tri-color cartridge and a black cartridge. So anytime there is an issue with color, replace the tri-color cartridge. As far as using compatible inks, you will not be able to use HP's software for ink levels with compatible inks. This feature will work only with HP ink cartridges.
