I have no picture. The screen will not come on. When I attempt to turn it on, the TV makes a sputtering sound coming from the bottom right (if you are facing the tv) speaker area. It sounds as though it's trying to connect to something and it won't catch. Like a bad starter. Finally gives out and red light comes on the front of the tv. I tried unplugging it and holding the power button down for one minute, and trying again. It didn't work either. Any suggestions? Also, if anyone knows what Mitsubishi is doing to help their customers who purchased these tv's could you please share with us what you know? Thanks.

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR LAMP IS OUT. AS FAR AS WHAT MITSUBISHI IS DOING THEIR NEWER DLP'S THEY REDUCED THE COST OF THE LAMPS TO $99. BUT ON THESE OLDER ONES THEY ARE DOING NOTHING.

Turn on tv have sound and picture then screen turns blue no picture but have sound

Blue screens are a strong hint that your tv isn't picking up an image. Check to see if you have a firm connection on both your tv and your input device (cable box/ dvd player). You may want to disconnect and reconnect fully. Also attempt selecting other inputs. If you only have trouble with that one input, then you have a loose internal connection. Also make sure that your TV can display an image by trying to use the on screen controls.

Clicking sound in back of tv when you try to turn it on

Hi,
Sounds like this could be a dry soldering joint in the TV power circuit. This can easily be repaired with a small soldering iron and soldering wire.

Best wishes,

Black line on middle of screen

Hopefully you still have under warrantee. If not, sorry. This line if memory serves me right is because the tv has 2 picture panels on each side of the TV (they join up together to make one picture). Toshiba did not realize that the panels will start slipping thus creating this fine line from the top of the screen to the bottom. They have revamped the newer models and placed glass to adhere the panels together. Even though my TV was under warrantee I got a new one and have had this one for 1/2 year and now the picture just blew (there is sound but no picture.)
Take your TV back if it is under warrantee.

TV will not turn on. It makes a nonstop clicking noise.

Sounds to me like the high voltage power supply is attempting to fire off the metal halide lamp without success.

Error Code 5 flashes when unit shuts down

Good Day;
It sounds like the TV may have a shorted CRT, picture tube, but let's trouble shoot:
1. Unplug TV from wall.
2. Remove speaker grill, two on bottom, the screws are covered with plastic caps, right and left side on bottom next to floor.
3. Remove inner panel.
4. The blue tube is the one the right side, remove socket, with phillips driver, make sure it's not touching anything.
5. Plug and turn TV back on, if picture appears with no blue it's the tube.
6. If still shuts down, bad blue CRT driver IC.
CAUTION: Call a factory authorized service dealer to give you an estimate, if this sounds too hard.
Good Luck, Day, Big Irish.
