Hi, follow the steps below. Don't change any of your settings since they
already work, but when you get to step 7 this is where you check
whether or not you want to remove the emails from the sever.
Open Outlook 2003 then:
Click Tools ' E-mail Accounts.
Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
Select POP3, then click Next.
Enter the following information:
User Information
Your Name: Type your name as you'd like it to appear when you send an email message.
E-mail Address: Type your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address (for example, [email protected]).
Server Information
Incoming mail server (POP3): Type pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Type smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Login Information
User Name: Type your Yahoo! ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
Password: Type your Yahoo! password.
Check the Remember password checkbox if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
Do notcheck the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox.
Click the More Settings button. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
Select the Outgoing Server tab:
Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
Make sure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
Select the Advanced tab:
Under "Incoming server (POP3)," check the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox. The number in the "Incoming server (POP3)" field usually changes automatically from 110 to 995. If it doesn't, type 995.
In the Outgoing server (SMTP) field, type 465. Under it, check the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox.
If you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and on your computer, check the Leave a copy of messages on the server
checkbox. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo!
server once Outlook has downloaded them onto your computer, leave the
box unchecked.
Note: After your messages are deleted from the server, we cannot retrieve them.
Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
If you're using Internet Explorer, try going to Tools, then Internet Options, and hit the Delete button in the middle. Delete all cookies and temporary internet files. Retry logging into your Yahoo e-mail account. If you're still experiencing an issue, contact Yahoo directly at 1-866-562-7219.
Tap on e-mail and drag to the left, the "Resend" button cahnges into "Delete" and then just press that. I could not find this anywhere else and just accidentally figured it out.
Log into your Yahoo Mail account - http://mail.yahoo.com
When you delete messages in Yahoo! Mail, they go to your Trash
folder. If you delete a message by mistake, for a little while you'll be
able to find it in Trash and move it back to your Inbox or another
folder. Just remember that messages in your Trash folder can be deleted
at any time, without warning.
To permanently remove the contents of Trash yourself, just click Empty next to Trash on the left side
of the page. When messages are emptied from the trash folder, they are
permanently deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server and cannot be recovered.
If you are in a classic view in yahoo mail, the only way is if you switch to "All New Mail".
It has a continuous mail page which allows you to delete all at once.
Click on "more actions"---then, "Select All Messages" and then "Delete".
You can always switch back to Classic afterward.
