Tv cuts off and on no picture or sound

I have a sony lcd projection tv kdf-e60A20 and tv cuts off periodically goes black no sound no picture continually happening cuts off for a minute and then comes back on all day as long as tv is on

    would this have anything to do with the lamp

Most TV shut downs like this are HEAT related.Try increased cooling with a fan blowing into it to test this on yours.If it works leave the fan running or repair with a nice little but strong computer fan placed behind the unit..

    I recently got a 60 inch Sony KDF-E60A20 from a friend for around. ... runs for about 1 minutes then goes black(no picture no sounds), then the picture and sound come right back on for another minutes then off for 30 seconds.

Time to replace lamp as existing lamp is reaching to end of its working life and causing problem.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual.

While tv is on, at times screen just blacks out ...then comes on again.....audio remains but picture fades in and out....often

Replace lamp in tv because symptom shows lamp is near to end of its working hours life and causing that problem.
If lamp has not been replaced in tv in last 2-3 years, its time to replace it to solve the issue.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual.

Lamp inside of your TV set is nearing end of lifespan. Replace it.

KDF-E60A20. Picture and sound go off for a few seconds, repeats

It was as simple as replacing the lamp. It took just minutes and the TV works like new. I had to adjust he picture for the increased brightness level.

Optical block or LVDS cable You need a tech to tell you for sure, have a tech look at it
