KDS-R60XBR1 Sony Projection SXRD Power Issue?

I have owned a KDS-R60XBR1 Sony Projection SXRD for about 18 months. In the last few weeks, the TV has started to lose its picture and screen and then the green power light blinks for 2 minutes and the TV comes back on. This repeats every 5-10 minutes. I think the TV is experiancing power issues. I have tried replacing the surge protector and plugging the TV straight into the wall. But, it has continued. Any ideas?

the green power light comes on and the tv works for a few minutes, then it shuts off. The sound still is going, and after a minute or so the picture will come back on. There are no other lights flashing anywhere. Just the power light. From flashing green to solid green then back to flashing green.

Green 3 flashes.....3-5 seconds....turn red with 3 flashes 2 sec..and repeats again

Sony tv kds-r60xbr1 has yellow tint

Sorry to hear this, but your optical block has failed. Sony replaced a ton of these under warranty and then extended the warranty on these SXRD sets so they could replace many more. They even replaced the sets with LCD sets after a class action law suite. This was a "black eye" for Sony TVs and they stopped making the SXRD sets. Your set is vintage 2006 and there is no longer a warranty. You could replace the optical block with a rebuilt one, but the cost would be about the same as getting a new 60" LCD. I would suggest you do the latter.

We have an 50 Sony SXRD and the green light started to blink, lost picture and then the red light blinked 5 times. Any idea why and what can we do to fix this?

sounds like a bad lamp
dose the tv buzz a few times if so it just needs a bulb

Red led blinks 4 times is an error code that shows that fan is not running in tv, check fans connections and make sure all are plugged properly
