SOURCE: how do i edit using motionsd studio 1.3e?
I had much the same issues with my Motion SD Studio manual...pretty much useless. On screen help? Forget it...it won't find it. Again..useless.
So the only way I learned to use it was by just digging in and doing it. Once you have it figured out, it really isn't that bad to use. Although it is rather basic as far as editing goes. I quickly outgrew the program and now use Magix Movie Edit Pro 14...MUCH more versatile! But I still need Motion SD to load the files into the computer and render them into the proper format for MEP.
SO the first thing you want to do is load your video clip into the computer. Make sure your power cord is connected to the camera. Then connect the USB cable th the cam and computer. The camera will ask you if you want it to be ""pict-brigge or as a USB drive. Choose USB drive. Cancel out of the window that pops up.
Now start your Motion SD studio software. In a few seconds a box will appear asking you what to do. Yo want to upload files from the camera. Pick this option and a new windoe opens up displaying the videos in your camera on the left and a preview screen on the right. Simply highlight the clips you want to inport and then click the "import" button below the preview screen. This process may take some time depending on the length and number of clips you import.
Once importing is complete, it will ask you if you want to edit the images. Hit YES anf the edit window will open up.
Then drag your clips tio the timeline and begin editing.
I hope this is helpful to anyone having trouble getting thingd going with this software. Remember, I had to learn this on my own due to insufficient manuals and a lack of online help. I can offer further assistance if anyone might need it.
