SOURCE: bike pedal arm keeps falling off as i pedal.

You need a new crank arm. If you ride with the nut loosened what happens is the square part of the bottom bracket shaft wears the hole out in the aluminum crank and it no longer fits snugly no matter how much you tighten it down.

SOURCE: No resistance when I pedal the stationary exercise bike

Hi,

I looked into this thinking is must be a simple belt, or tention wheel, but these devices are much more complex than the average exercise machine. See the Recumbent selection here.

It appears that the tentioning device is a magnetic brake.
This would require that it be plugged into a power source and programmed to provide a desired tention.
I've never used one of these so I can't say what kind of programming options there are or where they are found.

Hope this helps.
Richard.

SOURCE: the crank arm is stripped on the left side of the bike

Yes, the crank-arm could be replaced.
1.You would need to remove the flat nut holding the crank to the frame. And then take out the bearing.
2. A special open-ended wrench is required to remove this nut. Please visit your local bicycle shop for a new crank-arm, and the required tools, also.
3. Put in new crank-arm and its bearing.
4. Grease the bearing.
5. Tighten nut.
6. Give it a test ride.

Testimonial: "Thanks very much for your assistance. I have ordered the crank arm and will follow your input."

SOURCE: Lifefitness 9500hr recumbant exercise bike dead

This unit takes a special 6 volt battery. The battery is in one of two places. First place to look is under the unit. If you lay the bike over on its side there is an opening in the covers. If the battery is not there then you will need to take one of the side covers off. When you get the side off you cannot miss it. The battery is black with three cylinders. You can get the battery from sportsmith.net.

I am trying to get side cover off of my freemotion 330 r bike i have removed the pedal and all of the screws i am doing this so i can adjust the tension

To remove the side cover of your Freemotion 330 R bike, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the bike and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Remove the pedal on the side you want to remove the cover from.
  3. Locate and remove all screws that are holding the side cover in place. There may be screws under a cap or sticker.
  4. Carefully pry off the side cover from the bike frame. It may be held in place by clips or other fasteners, so use caution and gentle force to remove it.
  5. Once the side cover is removed, you should be able to access the tension adjustment mechanism.
Note: Make sure you keep all screws and parts in a safe place, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for adjusting the tension.

ProForm 235 CSX Recumbent Exercise Bike. Why does the left pedal fall off of my Proform 235csx during use?

Remove the pedal, clean the threads on both parts. Put Red Loctite on the threads and torque it down. Leave 24 hours before use.

My left pedal keeps falling off of my proform pfex26820.0

Just my thoughts.
If the treads are stripped are warn on the pedal or inside the arm. The threads in the arm may need to be tapped or the threads on the shaft need to be rethreaded to clean the threads.
Could be the bearing in the pedal is not turning free and as you pedal the bike it is unscrewing the pedal from the arm.
After you tighten the pedal shaft to the arm the pedal should turn freely on the shaft and not bind.

The seat on my Vitamaster 1000XT Triple Action Exercise Bike, is too high.

Question edited for clarity, added full make model (what it is). Moved from the Seat, (Spanish Car) category to exercise bikes.

The only way to fix that is with blocks on the pedals. You may be able add 'pedal blocks'. You can make them out of two pieces of hardwood and 4 long bolts. Or you can buy them.

Cannot change resistance on my freemotion 335R bycicle

If it is battery operated (batteries are in the console) change them first.
If that isn't the problem, you need to open up the bike and check the servo motor operation and the eddy mechanism.
Many of the Icon bikes have lifetime warranty on the eddy mech. Check your manual for warranty coverage.

Hi Dan,

I know it's been a while, but any chance you found the issue and fix? I have the exact same model and same symptoms you mentioned.

The left pedal keeps falling off. I use a wrench to reattach it and tighten it down, and then within five minutes of starting to use it, it starts to loosen and eventually (20 minutes or so) falls of

Try using "locktite" thread lock to help keep it from loosening. U can buy it at automotive or hardware stores.
Or use fingernail polish on the threads as a cheap substitute

How do I remove the pedals on a 8500 life fitness recumbent bike

Replacement Parts for Fitness Exercise Equipment at SPORTSMITH

Using a wrench, you remove the left pedal as you would loosen a normal, left hand threaded bolt. The right side is a reverse thread and would need to be loosened in the opposite direction.
