According to the user manual, this unit is dual voltage. Maybe it is set to 120v and you are using it with 220v? There is a auto-resetting over-temp switch inside. Maybe the over-temp switch is defective?

These issues means it's broken non fixable with hair styler electronics.they are cheap...buy a new one.do not put a heated device that's broken on your hair...You could burn your hair off!
1) you have to test the power cord for broken or fault with VOM 2) inside there are thermal fuse, test it and replace with VOM 3) test the heating element for open and replace, and test for ground 4) test the thermostat, and adjust it.
