I have a linksys wrt54g router and want to connect the dap-1522 to it. im using vista and i remember that i read somewhere to go to start and conntect to and should be able to connect to the accesspoint/bridge, and one time i used it and it worked but now it doesnt seem to be seeing the ap. it didnt work ive tried dlinkap and 192.168.0.50 and still cant connect to the ap/bridge. is it not possible to connect the linksys wireless router to the ap/bridge?
first i was having problems with the linksys router so i purchased a new dlink router n capable dlink dir-655 i believe. it worked great, but because the size of our property even this powerful router wouldnt extend to the area we'd like.
After taking a suggestion from a family friend we were told to purchase a wireless access point or bridge to basically "bounce" the signal again. Ive heard of it being called a repeater but not sure. anyways, we decided to buy the dlink dap-1522 and attemp to connect to the linksys router. why cant i manually connect to the dap-1522 through ethernet ports? am i doing this all wrong? misunderstood? any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I think I was having a similar problem with my DAP-1522 ... FW Version 1.10 being used as an access point. I recently discovered that I was not able to connect to the configuration pages using a web browser by typing in it's IP address (192.168.0.50). When I originally set this up device up on my network, it worked just fine, but at some point in time, it stopped working. My solution to this problem was to set the switch on the back of the 1522 from Auto to AP, then re-boot the DAP-1522 by removing power, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging power back in. Once the AP re-booted, I was then able to access the configuration login page by typing 192.168.0.50 into my browser. My DAP-1522 access point is connected via port 1 to my D-link router, a DGL-4100, via a DGS-2208, 8 port gigabit switch. Hope this helps!
