Watching usb video and akai menu keeps appearing at the top of screen - how can we stop this

replace the main pcb also called the digital pcb.you also could have a defective address or
buffer pcb that feeds the top of the screen if the top is black.if screen is not black.replace the main digital pcb.where all video is done in
the tv.

If a screen flickers it could be an inverter or a backlight problem. Not sure if it's cost effective to replace, though, in a laptop.

If it were a desktop, the video card could be added or replaced depending on whether the video function was on the motherboard or not.

On Most TVs I have messed with, Hit the input or source button muliple times to cycle throught the different inputs. Also make sure there is an active device on the input for the TV to recognize it. Good luck
