Casio EX-Z600 overexposured pics on some zoomlevels

I've read about that problem several times now. My CASIO EXILIM EX-Z600 also suddenly started to take overexposured images while all settigs are ok.
There are some zoomlevels where the cam takes perfect pictures. Sometimes the pics appear "interlaced", and monochromatic too.

I did a reset to factroy defaults - no change.

Overexposure for pix mode.video seems okcamera 2 yrs old casio EX-S880

Check your "exposure compensation" setting. It should be at "0". You can set it lower if your pics are still overexposed and see if you can find a setting you like.

How to I download pics into hp laptop from Casio EX-Z600?

You don't need any software for the computer. Yes you can get a manual for this camera on the web, but here is how to do it anyway. Do you have the usb cradle that came with the camera? If not, you need to purchase one. If you do, plug the ac adapter to the dc in jack on the cradle, then plug the other end to an outlet. Plug in the usb cable to the cradle, then to the computer. You don't need install anything.  Click on my computer and you should see it listed as a removable drive. Double click on it, and double click on the dcim folder. The pictures should be there.

Outdoor snap is full white

It really sounds like an exposure setting. Check the manual exposure, it will use that setting when not in auto mode.

Exilim z600 Static on viewing screen. Sometimes won't turn on/off

More than likely, you've just got a bad camera. I've helped with several problems with P/S cameras where the screens are either noisey or records a static like image. 9 times out of 10, it's the processor. Unless the camera is new or still under extended warranty..,

Casio Z600

The Casio Exilim EX-Z600 seems to have a high failure rate with the CCD (Charged Coupled Device). Symptoms include over-exposures (white outs) on outdoor shots and thin horizontal lines across the entire image. I have the same camera with the same problem. Given the age of the camera (2006), it is probably not worth fixing.
