I have a Viking 445. I lowered the feed teeth and when I move the witch to put them back up they do not return to the up position. Is there anything I can do to remedy the situation?

The feed teeth won't come back up until the machine rotates a full revolution.
Do not force the drop lever to try to raise them. If it breaks, you can't get a new one.

SOURCE: Husqvarna 950E, the feed teeth will not lower.

If the machine has been taken apart it may have been reassembled improperly so that the dial on front of freearm is interfering.
Also, try removing the needle plate. If the teeth touch the side of the plate they may not drop properly.

SOURCE: needle hitting stitch plate on my Viking Lilly 545 recently had it serviced, was sewing fine

try a new needle
if the needle is still hitting the needle plate, then it's possible that the machine is out of time and needs to be adjusted, or there is something wrong with the needle bar.

The sewing teeth were down for quilting, I cant make them come up again for sewing, wheel turns but teeth dont move, any suggestions?

Look at the presser foot and imagine they are at the center of a clock. Now look at 4:00. There is a horizontal wheel (dial) on the free arm that needs turning.

The feed teeth are lowered when you turn the dial on the front of the free arm to the left . Turn the dial to the right if you wish to raise the feed teeth. The feed teeth will raise as you begin to sew.

Look at #12 on page 2 here: http://new.husqvarnaviking.com/sitefiles/clientsite/57/57c874e2-c4de-4acc-a703-3d47b01f941b.pdf

I put on the 1/4 inch quilting foot and the machine will not hold the settings, feed: 2 to 2.5 and stitch width 0

This sounds like a stepper motor problem. When you say it will not hold the settings do the feed teeth stop moving? Your feed teeth should be 1mm above the needle plate at the highest setting. Is that working for you?

The feed dogs will not come back up to the proper height after lowering them to do a button. How do I get them to come back up. I tried the dial, which has worked in the past.

You will need to move the stitch dial/slide/button back to normal stitching position but also actually try to sew on it.

The feed dogs will not return to normal postion until machine has gone through a full stitch sequence so they may look like they haven't returned up. Just put some fabric under the foot, lower the pressure foot and try stitching a stitch or two.

The feed dog is not grabbing the material or the presser foot pressure doesn't seem to be working. I have a Viking 6000 SL sewing machine, Model 6460.

The little white button on the lower right front of the machine is the button that drops the feed teeth. If it is pressed in the feed teeth are down, push in a lift upward to be sure it's in the "Up" position. Then look on the left side of the machine, you'll see a dial, (NOT the dial facing you as you sit in front of the machine) make sure the red dot on the dial is lined up with the red dot on the painted part of the machine.
Finally look at the dial on the front of the machine. The one with the little button in the center of it. Put it on the number 3. If your machine doesn't feed fabric after doing what I've outlined then you need to take it in for service.
