Door would not open. Sensors are fine. We have disengaged the handle, so trolley can run without moving the door. (Trolley holder is about a foot from garage door.) It makes a hum for a few seconds and trolley runs from trolley holder to the door and returns to the trolley holder. It will not run along the bar towards the opener. What's wrong and how do I fix it? We had to replace the trolley because when this happened the tension was so great it broke the metal ring on the trolley holding the chain! Please help!!
It sounds like your chain is out of sync with the limit switches. Loosen the chain enough so that you can remove it from the sprocket on top of the motor unit. Now run the opener until the sprocket runs counterclockwise and stops. Now with everything attached and the door in the open position replace and tighten the chain. You are now in sync. You may need to tweak the up and down limit controls which are on the side of the motor unit.

Check
to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the
motor unit. If so loosen the chain enough to remove the tension of
the trolley. Now run the motor until the door closes. While the door
is closed, locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor
unit. Turn this control 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the
arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.
