Really it is normal for the fan to run continuously? What is the logic in that? I thought mine was defective ... didn't notice this until the TV was moved to the bedroom. Now I plug the TV to a timer to automatically shut the power off so I can sleep! What a flawed design.Really it is normal for the fan to run continuously? What is the logic in that? Everything that i've been able to find says that it is supposed to run all the time. There has been several complaints from customers w/ the same problem but it appears to be normal. The fan will get louder as it ages so maybe you are just now hearing it. It only uses a very small amount of electricity. Here's a similar post for it. http://www.fixya.com/support/t2780492-mits
The V26 DM repair kit will usually repair that issue. You can get the kit at www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the replacement capacitors and the CD with Instructions.
I would "reset" the entire tv (like when you first got it) and make sure all input devices are ASSIGNED correctly and each of those has a physical connection that is good. Can you access "setup" OK?? If OK, there is a known problem with the "input board" on some Mits...not an easy or cheap repair.
first when the set has been off for a while take out the lamp and look to see if any black or white marks on the lamp. when lamp go out they start doing stuff like that. try replacing the lamp. only buy from mits. try hiting the menu and input/device button at the same time it will blink a code at ya. (12 or 26 est) repost i will see what it is and tell ya.
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

The capacitor on the PCB was burnt out when I got the tv, now I know why.
