Check the compressor and the Relay, the relay is located on the compressor itself. you should have full voltage to both of those. If oyu have voltage to the relay and not the compressor then the relay is bad. If you have power to both and the compressor will not kick on then you have a bad compressor and it is best to just replace the fridge

I think if it is full of food I would call for service instead of using a website that may be able to help or not.

When you thawed it, did you remove ice from it using a metal object. That may have damaged the coils when would allow freon to leak out. This is too coincidental to be a problem itself with the compressor. The t'stat might be the problem. Try turning it off at the t'stat for a few minutes, then turn back on to the normal setting. Keep door closed for 30 minutes and check the inside and see if the walls are freezing. If not, you may have a compressor problem, or t'stat, or relay switch problem.

Some fridges use the same air fridge gets its cold from freezer the duct could be frozen closed a good defrost could do the trick

It should be set between 10 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit

Had the same problem for the same unit. In my case, the theromostat was sticking. Mine was still under warranty so I called Magic Chef, who in turn gave me to a local repair person. In order to save him time to travel out for a diagnosis, he asked me to tap on the control to see if the run light comes on. Sure enough the run light came on and cooled the freezer. Try tapping on the unit control to see if it kicks on. My email address is [email protected]. I'd like to know if it works.

The clicking sound is a relay called PTC relay. You need to replace it. First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken
