I have an Acer Aspire 8930G and I had a connection between my acer laptop to my sony bravia TV. The HDMI cable got damaged so I had to replace it with a new HDMI cable. Now I cannot get the laptop to talk to the TV and I have tried all 3 HDMI connection on the TV. Any ideas.
After you connected the HDMI Cable to the TV...Did you press the FN + F4 Key on the keyboard... The first screen you will see is the notebook screen is blank and the TV has got the desktop on top of it...The second time you press the FN + F4 then you will see thedesktop on the notebook and as well as the TV...The third time you press the FN+F4 you will see the desktop on the Notebook...

What version of windows? And can you get to the windows desktop? If you can move your mouse arrow to an open area on the Windows desktop, then click your right mouse button or right button on your touch pad. This will give you a menu go to the bottom and choose properties. Once in properties go to the settings tab and look halfway down the window you should something like the word display and a box right below it. in that box on the right will be an arrow click on that arrow and see you TV is listed.
