Hi there,
I have owned the Canon A 95 for almost 2 years now. Since a couple of weeks back its not been working at all. It keeps saying "Change Batteries" even after i put in a new set of batteries. After a few seconds of turning it on, it says Change Batteries and shuts off. Triedputting in new batteris a few times but still no luck. Any help would be highly appreciated!

My camera tells me I need new batteries even when they're new. I'll put new batteries in, get a shot or two then nothing. Now I can't use it at all!
Yes, my A95 in 3 years old and it suddenly started doing the same thing. The strange thing is that if you switch to picture review mode (instead of taking a picture) the batteries appear to last for ages... even though it's the LCD that's supposed to consume the most energy! If the battery level sensor didn't switch the camera off I think it would be fine.
I have this problem as well. I thought it was a problem with my NiMH batteries. So, I bought a volt meter to make sure the batteries worked. I have 8 AA NiMH batteries. I charged them all up and tested them with the volt meter. They were all good to go. However, no matter what I put in the camera one of two things happens:
1. I get the "change batteries" message.
2. I don't get the message, but the next time I check the camera (a few days later), one of them is totally drained.
Something is very wrong and I plan on contacting Canon.
