Erase All button is grayed out on my Canon Powershot SD550

I had just received advice on how to erase the card by pushing the menu button and then selecting 'erase all'. However, the erase all selection is grayed out and can't be selected along with the other selections on that screen.

Okay. You can try resetting the unit to factory default. But I just want to warn you that this will delete all settings on your camera.

To RESET it to factory defaults, all you have to do is go to the Tools menu. This is the hammer and wrench tool I guess. And then hit Reset All.

Power Shot A630 says card locked, will not take or delete pics

There is a switch on the side of the SD card, slide to unlock position then go to the SETUP menu, format the card (before doing that, make sure you have saved all pictures from the SD card to your computer)

I want to erase a video, but not "erase all images"

Careful, the way you're doing it would actually erase everything. Use that way only after you've downloaded all your pictures and videos to your computer.

The way to erase a single image or video is to go into picture/video review mode. Advance so that you can see the video you want to delete on your LCD screen. Then press the "trashcan" button on the back of your camera once. It may ask you "delete this video?". Select "yes".

Deleting photos from your Canon PowerShot A60

You can download a manual (Camera User Guide) here.

1. To erase an image from the memory card, in Replay mode scroll until you see the image you want to erase on the LCD.
2. Press the Func button (this is also the erase button).
3. You will see two options, "Cancel" or "Erase"
4. Use the right arrow key to highlight "Erase"
5. Press the Set button (first button below the LCD)
