Only 1/2 of my mitsubishi 62 inch dlp tv screen illuminates.

Owner manual or service manual?

Try to Google the model number for either or visit the Mitsubishi site for the owner manual.

try to restore factory settings so that we can easily diagnose if the problem is on the settings or have a faulty parts inside

the timer light part is misleading you Carlos, i think it is probably the internal power supply start up which is failing im afraid you will need a techie visit sorry,George.

I can help you unlock your Mitsubishi HDTV V-Chip.

Please follow these steps to bypass the vchip or reset the V Chip password.

These steps are actually for the rear projection models, but I hope the work for dlp plasmas as well.

Try this:
1) turn on the TV
2) from the remote control press MENU 2,4,7,0 then ENTER
3) tv will state on screen that it is INITIALIZING
4) when done press the front reset button.
5) should be good to go!

#1. replaced capacitors on power board. DM board FMT board .
# 2 on power board you need to chek caps. 3300mf x 35 v.QTY 2.
# 3 12 capacitor 1000mf x 16 v.
If caps 1000mf x 16 v . looked good. replaced anyway......

I'm going to guess that this unit is a DLP projection set and that the lamp is not new. Try a new lamp. The heat of the lamp will char over time. If not the lamp, some of the internal filters in the light engine might be getting effected by heat and require replacement.

This remote device works on pulsed IR beams to work, and the fact that the screen refreshes very close to the speed of the controller could be causing the reliability problem..Sorry I don't have a better solution for you....accordianman
