On the 99 Range oven F7 indicates a shorted Clear/Off Key due to membrane switch or a shorted control or connector

On the GE XL44 Self Clean Oven F7 is Stuck keypad or control relay malfunction

SOURCE: ge profile performance double oven. getting an F7

F7 is a stuck keypad/button.
Push all buttons at random several times each. This will sometimes un-stick a stuck button.
If that does not work the keypad control will have to be replaced.

Ge profile dbl oven keeps reading error message F7. Put cardboard card around ribbon cable on back of controller as advised a year ago on this site. We have moved it & changed it and now it works...

Hello,

The F7 error code means that a button on the touchpad is stuck. What the proper repair procedure is,is to first replace the touch pad and if F7 returns replace clock (also known as eoc or control board) Do not take this wrong but a no point in my 30 years appliance repair career exchanging info with my coworkers or even factory trainers at training sessions have i ever heard anything about putting cardboard around the touchpad ribbon cable.

Getting F7 code on a ge profile performance oven , oven light will not turn off and control panel will not respone.....beeps when I push CLEAR OFF button.

F7 A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)
Try gliding your finger flat across the keypad rapidly and see if you can unstick the key / touch pad. Usually once this code appears it will repeat.

On self cleaning ovens this is the service check:

Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Thanks for using FixYa!

My GE profile oven is giving me a code f7 and I can't clear it.  What does this mean?

Hi there,
Well, F7 error code occures due to
A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Replace the ERC there are ten screws 3 on each side and 4 on the control leave the hex screws alone all you need is a phillip screwdriver.
REMEMBER TO SHUT OFF THE POWER FIRST lift and fold out the control panel remove the ribbon cable and remove the four screws that hold the control board . replace control panel in reverse order.
Best of luck!!
Thanks
