Unregistered Telstra V580a handsets

I have 2 unregistered Telstra V580a handsets. How do I register them to the main base?I believe that I'm supposed to place the handset to the main base and hold the ''Page'' button down for 4 secs. However, when I do that nothing happens.

Please have a look at this sitehttp://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?i...
I tried many times without success until I found that I have to take the handset out of the base before pressing the "page" button. It took me half an hour to work out this!

  • Anonymous Dec 28, 2011

I have spent a day trying to register my 3 handsets. Eventually I did it!
    1.Switch off base station
2.Wait for handset screen to display "connecting"
3.Press and hold menu key on handset
    4.Select yes to remove registration
5.Follow the above for ALL handsets you want to use (I have 4)
6.ALL handsets will display Not registered
    NOW IS A TRICKY PART
1.Switch on base station and place handset in holder
2.Wait for Message on LCD asking to press page button
3.Press and HOLD page button on handset until IN USE button is blinking
4.Release Page button and press it again - you will hear the beap - your handset is reset
5.Do the above for your other handsets
    Now do actual registration:
    1. Place the handset you want to be #1 on the base and press Page for 4 sec - the message connecting ... should come and the handset will register as # 1
    2. Do not remove the battery from registered handset
    3. Place the handset you want to be # 2 on the base and press Page for 4 sec - will register it as handset # 2
    4. Do not remove the battery from registered handsets #1 and 2
    5. Follow the steps with the other handsets you have
All handsets are registered and ready to be used

The handsets are displaying 'UNREGISTERED' and not working!

UNREGISTERED means the phone has not yet been set up to work with any particular base. I don't have any Phillips phones, so I can't tell you the procedure, but it should be outlined in the owners manual. Look for registering your handsets.

Tru 9496

SOLUTION:

1. First, remove the battery cover on your unregistered TCX905 and look under the battery to confirm that you indeed purchased a TCX905 because some Uniden handsets were packaged as 905's but were not.

2. Take the fully charged unregistered 905 to the base unit TRU9496.

3. On the TRU 9496 base unit press "Menu" then select "Registration" and press OK

4. You should get the message "press the # key on the remote handset".

5. Depress the "#" key on the unregistered 905 and it should register.

can only be associated with 1 base station.
 To register another handset
First enter registration mode by unplugging and
plugging back in the power adapter to the

How to REregister handsets

You can unregister your phone without being in the cradle, but to re-register them, just put them back in the cradle.  After being unregistered, they will automatically re-register once they are put back in the cradle of the main base.  Try setting them back in the base cradle to re-register, and hopefully that will work for you.

Uniden handset TCX905 with base unit TRU8866-if compatible?

I just successfully registered 4 TCX905s with my TRU8865 base - it's documented in the TCX905 manual.

Be sure the handset you want to register is fully charged.

Remove the handset you want to register from its charger.

Now unplug the AC for the main base, hold down the 'find handset' key on the base and plug the AC in again, when it beeps, you can let go of that button.

Hold down the '#' on the handset you want to register, it will show 'Registering Handset...' and when it beeps, it's done - registered, you're good to go :)
