SOURCE: How to enable WI-FI function on Compaq Presario 2500 lap top.

Go to "network connections"

It should say Local Area Network and Wireless network (if your card is installed properly). Right click the Wireless Network and make sure it is enabled. Then click "View Available Wireless Networks" and choose your network.

If you are trying to setup a secure wireless network, that may be a completely different issue.

SOURCE: TV wont detect HDMI Devices except a pc.

Something is wrong whith the HDMI jack it's self, or the electronic switching is not sensing a signal is present. In either case the board that has the HDMI jack you are using needs to be replaced. Most all these boards are double printed, Multi-layered or both which prevents replacing the jack it's self. I do have a question though, do you only have on HDMI jack on the unit or do you have another one available.

SOURCE: Viera Link not work between two brand new Panasonic devices

You need to select setup from the TV menu then switch the Viera link on. I think retuning must have switched it off.

SOURCE: HDMI video not functioning on a new Onkyo TX-SR606

For me, it was the Monitor Out setting that had defaulted back to Component. I remembered to change the individual inputs to HDMI - but had forgotten to set the Monitor Out to be HDMI.

How can stop Samsung HT-EM53C Blu-ray system from opening the CD tray?

It sounds like you have an issue with the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) function. When the home theater system is connected to a compatible TV by an HDMI cable, you can sync the operations when this is enabled on both the TV and the home theater system.

You need to be turn the feature off on one or both devices. If you have another HDMI port on the TV, you could move the HDMI cable to that port. (Most TVs only have one HDMI-CEC enabled port.) Note: this turns off the audio return channel option. If you only have the HDMI cable connected between the TV and the HT-EM53C, you will need to connect another cable. Depending on the TV, this could be an optical audio cable, analog RCA audio cable or headphone (3.5mm) to RCA audio cable.

The manual for the Samsung HT-EM53C is available at ManualsLib here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/355628/Samsung-Ht-Em53c.html .

A summary of the Anynet+ feature is here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/355628/Samsung-Ht-Em53c.html?page=29#manual . Accessing and navigating the Settings menu is discussed here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/355628/Samsung-Ht-Em53c.html?page=25#manual . Press the Home button on the remote and go to the icon with the gear.

I hope this helps.

I'm trying to set up an HDMI-CEC connection between a Panasonic Viera plasma TV and a Toshiba DVD player. Does anyone have experience with this?

As long as both TV and DVD player have arc enabled HDMI connections and you enable HDMI-CEC on the TV you should be good to go.

Why does it turn on, then off?

"HDMI-CEC", short for HDMI Consumer Electronics Control, is an HDMI feature many TVs and peripherals have.

If the TV is connected to an HDMI or a programmed remote is being used on the cable box the TV may be getting a second command via the HDMI cable.(CEC) Suggest disconnecting the HDMI cable and manually turning on the TV and see if it will remain on with just a blue screen, Try changing the input to antenna-DVD etc and see if the TV remains on.

You may need to check the settings in the cable box or DVD to change the auto control(CEC) feature. Or if you prefer controlling the TV via the cable box remote then you would not use the TV remote for turning on and off.

This can get very confusing because the TV and the DVD or the TV and the cable box will interact between each other. The problem can be more confusing if the components are not exactly compatible with the CEC. Also many remotes have the additional feature of controlling other components in your AV setup. Many times the operation is alternate action. So each cycle of the remote the TV changes state from on to off. If the two components are out of sync than one is on and the other is off. In that case not using the master on off of the remote but using the individual component setting allows for the two to be sync again. (both off or both on)

Is my Sony Grand Wega Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) compatible?

Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) What is Consumer Electronics Control (CEC)?
Consumer Electronics Control or CEC is a function that allows you to control multiple devices over HDMI using one remote control by having a secondary device receive commands from a primary device. Although CEC wiring is required for every HDMI port it does not mean that every HDMI port will have the function enabled.
If your device has the CEC function, this information will be located under your setup or settings menu.
To enable the function you will need to turn the CEC function on and then search for any devices that are CEC enabled that are connected to the TV.

What is the purpose or function of the FUN-LINK(HDMI CEC)?

The fun-Link option means that the Magnavox TV remote would control other Magnavox (and possibly other Funai manufactured) products (DVD or Blu-ray player) that also have the fun-Link protocol and are connected to the TV on the HDMI port. You can set the function to always turn on or off the accessory when you turn on or off the TV. Alternatively, turning on the accessory will turn on the TV.

Usually the model number is on the back of the TV. Many Magnavox manuals are available from the manufacturer's support page: http://www.magnavox.com/support/download_list.php .
One Magnavox TV with the fun-Link option is the 40ME313V. The manual describes enabling the feature on page 29. The direct link to the manual is http://www.funaiport.com/upload/MAGNAVOX/Manual/40ME313V_EN_OM.pdf .

I hope this helps.
