Using Windows® Media Player 10
1. Start Windows Media Player 10 and connect the unit to
your computer. On your player’s display it should say
‘MTP’. If not, then while the unit is connected press the ‘M’
(mode) button to change from ‘USB’ to ‘MTP’ mode.
2. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer
and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts. In the
Device Setup Wizard, select Manual.
3. Click Finish.
4. Select Library option. On the right pane select Sync List.
5. From the left pane you can select the Play list or Library
and you will see the content songs in the center pane.
6. Select the songs from the center pane, drag and add them to
the Sync List.
7. Click the ‘Start Sync’ button in the Sync List pane.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy
to your unit.

If you normally create a profile for your GPX on your desktop computer. Delete that profile, and then add back your GPX to your computer via the cable and it should work. I presume you are using windows XP?

My battery wont recharge when i plug it into the computer

IMPORTANT: To function properly, your Walkman® player must be recognized by your computer as a Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) device. If the portable player was connected to the computer before the Windows Media® Player version 10 or later was installed, it will be recognized as a Mass Storage Class (MSC) device and not function properly. In that case, a different procedure is available to correct this issue.
NOTE: If this is not the first time using your player and it was working properly at one time with no major changes performed (such as restoring the operating system or replacing a hard drive), follow the procedure below: Check for available space on the player using Windows Media Player or My Computer . Restart the computer. Check the connection status again and try to sync the player. Check that the USB cable is firmly connected to both the computer and the player. Check the connection status again and try to sync the player. If the player is connected to a USB hub, disconnect it and connect it directly to the computer with a dedicated USB cable. Check the connection status again and try to sync the player. If the player is still not recognized by the computer, disconnect all devices connected to the computer with a USB connection and restart the computer. After the computer restarts, connect only the Walkman portable player and test the connection again. If the player is still not recognized by the computer, try a different USB port. Check the connection status again and try to sync the player. Under the Common settings menu of the player, format the player using the built-in Format utility. Check the connection status again and try to sync the player. Verify the current Operating System. If it is an upgraded operating system, contact the computer manufacturer for updated drivers for their upgraded operating system. If you are running the Windows XP operating system, be sure you are running Service Pack 2 (SP2) or later. If you did not have the latest service pack, test the connection status again after it has been installed. If you are still unable to transfer music to your player and have not yet uninstalled and reinstalled the driver follow the procedure to confirm that the player is recognized by the computer as an MTP device.

ILo 1GB MP3 player.

Whenever I try to download music and I plug in my mp3 player, it always says, "It is not possible to to change the sync settings at this time. Please try again later." I try again later and it still doesn't work. I am using Windows Media Player and I can't do it on iTunes. What do I do?

Windows media player won't let me sinc

On top of the unit, just to the right of the ear phone jack, there is a small hole the size of a pin. You can reset this unit with a pin, and then it will accept a sync again, or at least it did for me.

Can't download songs on Ilo mp3 player

Hey there, I had the same problem just now. Go to "My Computer" and your MTP player should be right there, double click it. There should be an option that says Internal Storage. Right click that and click "Format". It will erase all the files on your MTP player, but you can reload them onto the device. Problem solved!

When I sync files to My mp3 player, it says "no file" when I diconnect.

I unchecked in the advanced sync setting the box to have windows media player create the drive hierarchy. Then I deleted all files on the player and did the sync again. This time only the mp3 files get written.
