I repaired tv's years ago and this sounds like a bad blue gun in the crt monitor... there are three guns in a pix tube red, green and blue( red and green make the color yellow) therefore the blue gun is too weak or shorts out and can't form true colors. In some monitors there are separate bios settings on the pix tube socket board and the colors can be turned up or down, but most are factory set and can't be adjusted. I don't recommend opening the rear cover if you don,t know what I am talking about HIGH VOLTAGE!!! better to get a new monitor.

Just installed two new monitors. Have ge force 8400 gs card. Windows 7. I can see both screens, but they are acting as two single screens. mouse won't move from screen to screen.

It sounds like you have the monitors setup as mirrored monitors instead of an extended desktop.

When in the display properties of windows click the monitor you want to have as the extended desktop and you should see a check box for extend monitor to this screen.

Tried to install pci 8400 gs video card.

uninstall all Nvidia drivers, restart your computer, reinstall the drivers. I have also ran into issues with these card before where you have to change the resolution by right clicking the desktop and selct properties. Other times you have to use the nvidia software for this type of change.

GeForce, monitor displays incorrectly

Make sure you uninstalled all previous drivers first. Just to let you know the 8400 gs isnt a gaming graphics card but it is a step up from the absolutely terrible 7200 gs

Longitudional lines on my monitor...

It could be your power supply, your monitor, your graphics card or a software problem.
Try to reinstall your graphics card drivers, if that doesnt help try another monitor.
If that also doesnt help I suggest you temporarily install another graphics card. If that also doesnt fix your problem, you should go buy another power supply.
