I own the Samsung over-oven microwave. Model#: SMH7174BC, 1.65kw unit. Date of manufacture shows Jan. 2005. It has worked perfectly for years. Recently, it will not heat, defrost or warm food in any manner. All control selections work perfectly as well as bottom lighting, fan, turntable, etc. It just will not heat. Any suggestions for me? I've been an amateur radio operator for 37 years so electronics do not scare me. Again, everything acts properly, it just won't cook.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.
If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.
To
replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover
of the oven. You may have to cut the cover off with snips, then use a
screw when reassembling it.
We have the full service manual for this oven, and have uploaded it to our site here.
The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

SOURCE: Microwave not heating
With the symptoms you
have, I would most strongly suspect a shorted high voltage rectifier
diode or a bad magnetron, or a loose and possibly corroded connection on the magnetron's terminal.
If it's fully covered under warranty.
I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

Its either your primary door switch or there is a diod inside on the right rear that needs to be replaced. to check the door switch, remove the cover disconnect the wires frome the switch and place a jumper wire on them and try it . if the problem persists it the diod. be carful. make sure there is no power going to it when your hands are in the microwave. and do not let it run to long or you will damage it.
SOURCE: Samsung microwave oven turntable doesn't turn
Yes it just will not cook or defrost very evenly. It is not dangerous however.
Probably the motor or gears that make the turntable go are worn or burnt out.
SOURCE: Samsung Microwave Oven shows -SE- on the display. Why?
-SE- error means you
have a shorting membrane keypad.
Since
it's less than one year old, it would be fully covered under warranty.
I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.
