Most Game Discs, DVD’s and CD’s can be fixed quite easily back to “As Good As New Condition”. Some home remedies or cheap repair kits may help with some light marks or very light scratches on some discs and you can pick these repair kits up in some stores or online rather cheaply, but a professional disc repair service is usually required to repair any discs with anything more than very light scratches. If the discs have any decent scratches on them, your probabaly better off sending them off to a proper disc service rather than spending money on a home repair kit only to find out that they wont fix most the discs.

Check the “More Info” & “FAQ” Sections for further details on game disc repairs and related matters.

If you tried some home remedies and they have not worked, try sending the disc off for repair. Contact the site above for advice on repair and shipping.

Hope this Helps!!!

Purchase a CD scratch removal kit from a store or garage sale. You will have a very hard time getting the scratches out smoothly without the machine.

My Wii won't work when I put the disc in it and it says "Could not read the disc. For deatails read the console manual" and I followed the instuction wipe it with a soft cloth and the...

The scratch that you are describing is the reason the will not work any longer. There is nothing you can do to fix the scratch. Unfortunately the data contained in the area of the disc that is scratched is vital to gameplay so you will no longer be able to play the game.

The best thing you could do is take it to your nearest Gamestop and have them use their cleaning machine on the disc, you might get lucky and have it fixed this way, although it is highly unlikely.

Sorry for your misfortune, hopefully I helped

I bought a game but my sons game cube wont read it it just says " the game disc could not be read please read the Nintendo game cube instruction booklet for more info " ? but i don`t have it...

Assuming it's a GameCube game, that means there is either an error in the code on the disc, or the disc may be damaged. Take it back to the store you purchased it from, with receipt in hand, and exchange it. If other games work properly then it's the disc that's the problem. The manual wouldn't help you.

Won't recognize the disc as a game... how do we fix this? Its a brand new Wii game.

Check the bottom of the Game Disc (the side without any labels or writing) for any dirt or damage (such as cracks, scratches, etc.).

If the games look significantly damaged, such as with scratches or cracks, it will need to be replaced.

If the game looks dirty (fingerprints, smudges), try cleaning the Game Discs. If the problem persists, the Game Discs will need to be replaced. or Click here to download repair guide

When we insert game discs in our wii, it will let us play for about 2 minutes, then give us a message that reads, "disc cannot be read, please refer to wii ooperations manual." I ordered the wii...

Check to see if there are any scratches on the disc. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating "Disc Read Error" or something to that effect. With some scratched discs, the data cannot be read and the game console may not even recognize the discs at all, giving you error messages etc. Best remedy for starters, is to try clean the discs and make sure there are no smudges or dirt marks left on the play-side of the discs. If there are any scratches on the discs, they will need repairing.

MY CONSOLE KEEPS SAYING CAN'T READ DISC

The most common reason for the games not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your game including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your game going again!

Take care.

GameCube Disc Scratch

There is only one recommendation I can think of but it may damage the disc forever so do it at your own risk. With that said I have done this with about a 50% success rate.
