No power My modem will not come on. All of the wires are plugged in, but no lights will come on. It is plugged into the power source and it is on, but the modem isn't working. We had an electrical outage last night. Is it possible that it ruined my modem? It WAS plugged into a surge protector.

If you have a multimeter, put it onto the DC voltage setting. Pull the plug out of the back of modem, and put one probe on the outside of the plug and one on the inside. If the multimeter reads a voltage somewhere between 6 and 15 volts, your modem is hooped. If it reads below 5 volts, you need a new power supply (plug).

How to connect my sagem to the computer and check if it is working correctly thank you

follow these steps : 1. Power off your computer. Connect the modem to the signal source. If the source is a cable signal, connect the modem with a cable wire. If it's a DSL signal, connect it with a telephone wire.
2. Connect the proper ends of the USB wire to the USB ports on the modem and the computer.
3. Connect the ethernet cable to the modem and the computer.
4. Insert the power source into the modem and then plug it into the wall socket or the series circuit.
5. Wait until all the lights on the modem are lit and then turn on the computer. When the Hardware Wizard detects the new device, you may have to insert the disk that came with it to install the software for the device. This will complete the connection of the modem to the computer.

unplug the modem from its power source for at least 30 secongs, plug it back in and wait a few mintues. also, depending on which light you are talking about, one of the lights will always be flashing as it is indicating data flow in and out of the device.

The power does not come on

Would request you to try some of undermentioned steps, this would help you identify what is the main issue:

  1. Try different power source or outlet. Make sure that the power socket is working properly.
  2. Unplug all cables from back of modem & plug only power cable. If power light does not come on, then you might need to get modem or power adapter changed.
  3. If power light comes on, then plug sat in & out cable, if light goes off then issue could be with these cables & you might need to call your ISP provider to send installer & look after the dish.
  4. If power light is still on, then plug lan cable & if light goes off then you need to change LAN Cable.
