My dcr sr 80 is not charging

Depending on your camera, the battery may be able to be charged on the camera or by using a separate battery charger. Refer to the section below that relates to the charging method you are using.

Charging while the battery is attached to the camera:

  1. Make sure the battery is firmly attached and the AC adapter is securely connected.
  2. If your camera can charge the battery with a USB connection, use the built-in USB cable to connect it to the computer. If you use a USB charger instead of the computer, check the compatibility of the USB charger.
  3. Turn off the camera. The battery is does not charge if the camera is turned on.

Charging using the battery charger:

  1. If the CHARGE lamp does not light or blinks when charging, the terminals may be dirty. Wipe the dust away with a dry cloth and charge the battery again.
  2. Make sure the metal contacts on the battery are free of corrosion.

Hi, I'd suggest using a wall charger as they're able to provide more power to charge then a computers USB port. Often with camera's the USB port doesn't supply enough power so the camera doesn't charge at all.

I have charged my camera but it will not stay on when turned on

you dont have explain exactly the problem.. if the problem turn on and off istantly this is shure a lens problem and you mst change the lens. if the camera turn on one two 3 minute and than turn off its probably that the camera dont charge the batterie. if the camera dont charge you can bypass the problem. you can buy on ebay a external charger for your batterie. if you search on ebay international seller you can find charger and batterie to a very good price. its possible to find two batterie and one charger to 10 sterl. so you have new batteries and a external charger. external charger is better as charge the battery in the camera. why i is nott so difficult that the batterie explode and ruine the camera. with a external charger this is not possible why you can ruine the charger that have a low cost but not the camera. i hope that i have help you. its possible that the camera dont charge its possible that the batterie dont mantain the charge.. its possible if the camera go on and go out directly that this is a lens error.. sorry foer my english

My camera will not charge. I have just bought a new battery as I thought that was the problem, however it still won't hold any charge when it is plugged into the charging dock. What can I do?

this is probably a faulty of the camera charging system. if this was my camera i search on ebay international seller one external charger for your batterie type. you find in ebay 100 models of external charger, so you charge you batterie and the camera goes like new. you can find a new charger with one or twoo new batterie all togheter to 10 euro . this is the better system to not spend a high fixing sum.

ok?? it s not so important if the camera dont charge the important is that the camera goes perfectly. ciao paolo italy

The old used battery was probably not used for a long time and in time, completely discharged and died. It can't be brought back. I don't know why your camera won't turn on with the original battery.

The blinking light indicates a charging error. Try connecting a 9 volt battery to your camera battery. Sometimes if the battery has lost all charge, the charger doesn't recognize it properly.
