Transfer video files from camara to pc

Videos can be displayed on a tv but when i try to download to computer it says there are no video files. How do I transfer videos from my camera to my pc?

    I can download my videos on my computer and play them and I also hit backup and copy , then when I try to play without being hooked to the camera I can't find them anywhere.

    I hook up my camera to the computer via USB and nothing. I have installed the software that came with the camera and nothing. Is the camera's USB port dead? Is the USB cable dead? Have the planets aligned against me? Any thoughts?

How do I do this with an imac apple computer.

Did you install the software that came on the CD? When you do that, connect the camera to the PC via USB, turn the camera on, select your choice. You can playback to PC, create a DVD, etc.

Make sure that all memory resident software is turned off on your comptuer including any anti virus software.

If you have a secondary hard drive on your computer use that instead of the C drive.

Defrag your hard drive. This way you video will be save as a continous file on your hard drive rather than having it being saved into little pieces.

Make sure that the Dazzle drivers are updated as well.

The important thing is to shut down all memory resident programs and defrag your hard drive.

I have a JVC Everio GZ-HD3AA camcorder which I recently purchased. I am able to connect it a TV and watch video files, but they all appear in black and white!
The downloaded movies to my laptop (Acer aspire 5630) with windows vista as the operating system are played in slow motion on the laptop screen.
