if you lost the installer CD, you can search through the camera's manufacturer's web site. you can usually find a section on the web site for downloading drivers. for logitech, go to the following link where you can select your cotrect product model to be directed to available downloads for it including driver: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads

Depending on which operating system you are running, it is possible to install without the CD. Generally Windows Vista and Windows 7 are plug and play, which means you can plug the camera in and Windows will apply a generic driver to it, making it functional but not as functional as if you had installed with the disk. Example, you would not be able to use the camera software as it would not be installed. Check the manufacturer's website and see if there is a newer software for you version of Windows. You can download it free. The site will also tell you if the camera is compatible with your current operating system, which, unfortunately, many are not with Windows 7.

Access the manufacturer's web-site, and click on "support" and click on "download drivers". Select your specific model, and download & install the correct driver.

If you don't have the CD, then just download the software from the manufacturer's website. But to do it without an installer is just not feasible because of the amount of resources that a web camera uses.

OK, this is very simple - we MUST have the manufacturer name and model # -it is written or etched somewhere on your webcam - look all around. there are thousands of webcams, and there is no possible way we could find it by your description. Once you have found the manufacturer's name- go to their website and get the software.

As for: will it work without cd? Don't ask us - just plug it into your computer and see if it will work. That's the only way you will know for sure.

You cannot. You need the installation software to install it! Contact the manufacture or see your camera dealer for details about how to order a copy of the software.
