We have a 42 " LG Plasma TV that is a couple of years old. It has developed a very light verticle ribbon that can be seen when the screen is displaying very light color tones (it CANNOT be seen when the color tone is dark). Even though It is not real noticable "yet", it is there when watching cable TV, watching a DVD and interestingly enough, you can even faintly see it when the TV is turned off. Will this problem likely get worse? What will it take to fix this problem? I'm not a TV repairman or technician. Will I be able to repair it myself? Approximately how much will it cost to resolve this problem?
Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Much.

The TV is design for 16:9 format. The bars appear when the TV off showing that the TV has been watching under channels which is have 4:3 format for long time. The screen was burn out because no sweepping to those area. This is not critical problem but you can do nothing to fix it. To eliminate it a bit you shoud read the manual, I believe it has mentioned how to roll or sweep the screen. For plasma TV, if you keep watching 4:3 channels fomat, you shoud do it one a month within 30'. Good luck
