Red light on my Philips tv goes 7 times

My $2,000 42" plasma Philips tv set was made on 2006. I bought it late 2007.
It is already August 2009 and don't turn on. The green light goes off and then flashes 7 times. After unpluging it for a couple of hours still turned on, but not anymore. It looks like it is a common problem, we have to get a lawyer and get a common suit

It's basically a common problem with all brands of flat panel TVs. Heat is the biggest enemy for circuit boards. And the flat panel TV generates a lot of heat.
The most common part to fail is the power supply board (Backlight Inverter Board) for the screen or the Main Power Supply Board for the TV itself. The flashing 7 times is a code for a technician look at a certain circuit path for the malfunction.
If you have some electronic experience and you want to repair it yourself, you can sometimes find a Service Manual over the internet for less than $20. It will have red light flashing codes, diagrams, schematics, and part number list. Cheaper than buying a new TV. :)

Tv will not come on. Red light blinking on bottom left front. Red light blinks 7 times

I have the model Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on and MOST articles on the Internet say it's the Capacitors capictors capictors..I checked all of them. My tv just blinked red lights, had the clicking sound at first power on, but then goes black. No sound. No picture. Nothing. Just blinking red lights.

MINE WAS RESISTOR no. 3318 , a 100 OHM RESISTOR ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD.

I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR .99 CENTS SOLDER IT, AND EVERYTHING WORKED!!!

THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK.

JUST A SUGGESTION..
1. CHECK FOR BULGING CAPACITORS (90 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM)
2. THEN CHECK FOR RESISTORS WITH MULTIMETER ( FALLS INTO THE OTHER 10 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM.)

TELL ME IF THAT [email protected]

Flat screen tv problem

42PF7320A: 7 blinks is missing 8.6VDC from supply -- connector CN-1M46, pin 3 (out of 11 pins), goes from power supply to main/input board.

I have a 42" philips plasma with 8 red blinks

90% of the time this is capacitor related in the power supply, Remove the back and check for capacitors that are domed shaped on top, Replace these and all should be ok.

The dreded blinking red light!

It isn't just Philips, too many of the sets made in the last five years . . . don't last five years. This failure is probably caused by the main power supply which is often a separate board that can be user replaced. You might call Philips to inquire about the availability of repair services for that assembly but since they are often built by ~ 50 cent an hour labor with parts that are cheap in quantity, they probably only offer the board for sale.
If you buy the board and replace it, don't toss your original away, there are now repair services for these offered by independents that would provide you with a spare.

7 red flashing lights, won't power up..

Check the power board for capacitors with the tops bulged up. They are 3300uf 10v. There are either 2 or 4 of them depending on your set.
